Pop Top working intermittently.

Pop Top not going fully up.

I tried to put the pop top up yesterday on out 2012 VW California SE and it wouldn’t fully raise it started to go up but stopped after a few inches. I was able to get it up eventually by pressing. the button. Once up it was initially reluctant to come down but did with a few pushes. I have reset the control until, even tried a hard reset by removing it and reconnecting it. I have given the van a good run and plugged to into mains but still the same issue. The control unit shows no error code. Has anyone come across a similar issue does anyone have any ideas?

Could be a loss of Hydraulic fluid?
Probably wouldn't show anything on Control panel until loss of fluid is significant.
Check hydraulic rams for any leakage or staining and pipes on the roof upto entry into front roof cap.
Any staining on roof lining?
Next would be to check fluid level in pump reservoir.

Thanks for the reply. I had overlooked the hydraulic fluid as an issue is there a central reservoir? As there is no difference in operation between the two rams. There is no evidence of a leak on the headliner or around the roof.

The pump and reservoir are behind the Control Panel. See the link above.

Sensors (age of van suggests this)? Although they normal throw up an error reading. Any unusual symbols or beeps from control panel?
