So I had this problem last year.

Just to be clear, the issue you have is that the roof checks that the ignition is on, not because it needs power but it’s a safety thing so that kids can’t open / close the roof as they won’t have the keys, only with the key in the ignition and the ignition on will the roof be allowed to open / close.

I don’t know exactly what fixed mine in the end, I took the relays out from under the seat and put them back in, i sprayed some with contact cleaner.

I removed and put the fuses back in a few times.

It started working and has been fine since.

Yes, have read your posts about that, I know perfectly the matter of safety and the choice of German engineer about the protection function of the CU.
In my case, the insertion of the key is recognized, duerning the request to close or open the roof, if I leave the key, the message on CU change from : Ignition on? the vehicle is stops? to: ignition on!
this confirm me that there is dialogue from vehicle to CU but this is not sufficient, probably there is another necessary feed.....
Have tried to leave and insert, sprayed with contact cleaner all the fuse and connectors under the left seat but nothing change!
from that the decision to bypass the CU and install a simple circuit with 2 relays, this work perfectly and maintain all the safety of the CU.

Yes, have read your posts about that, I know perfectly the matter of safety and the choice of German engineer about the protection function of the CU.
In my case, the insertion of the key is recognized, duerning the request to close or open the roof, if I leave the key, the message on CU change from : Ignition on? the vehicle is stops? to: ignition on!
this confirm me that there is dialogue from vehicle to CU but this is not sufficient, probably there is another necessary feed.....
Have tried to leave and insert, sprayed with contact cleaner all the fuse and connectors under the left seat but nothing change!
from that the decision to bypass the CU and install a simple circuit with 2 relays, this work perfectly and maintain all the safety of the CU.

I have downloaded the T5 circuits from the resource section.

I believe that SC36 (5A) is the "Ignition" feed that is the issue. I would check for voltage on this fuse when the ignition is on. Pin 30 on 32 Way connector



SC30 (5A) is another feed - I don't believe this will give this error.

I am happy to try and help, but always trying to do this remotely is difficult!
