For the last 3 tank fulls i´ve been on shell v power and i
think i can see slightly better economy and it seems to run
smoother.
It could be a placebo effect though.

Be careful of Placebo's!

I was due to take part in a clinical trial in 4 weeks time. It has now been cancelled due to a volunteer on a current one-tenth dose level experiencing elevated heart rates. They have just "unblinded" the study and found that he was the one taking the placebo

Never used premium diesel, and not going to big brand petrol stations as they (mostly) charge you more than low brand stations.

Ran over 120000 km with my Golf 4 diesel without problems.
Running now over 130 000 km with my California. Going on holidays with an average of 6,5 - 7 liter/100 km I am fine.
Don't know if the price can justify the (maybe) lower mpg.

Oh, don't put oil in your fuel tank. Unless you want problems (more...) with your EGR or DPF.
