Question.....So when your California reaches build?

acccchhhhh
What a nuisance Chris.
A similar thing was on the cards for me too (as in pick up on the 14th was mentioned. But after crying down the phone as best I could we managed it earlier.
Still at the end of the day these have been quick turn arounds for us class of autumn/winter '17, AKA Classes of Build Week 45, 46, 47.

Don't know about the union flag...got to be a setting on your profile though.

Flag shows where you are posting from, or at least the Network as mine changes when I’m vpn’d to my office/customers.

For those who have collected their van, did your dealer do the handover in the warmth of a show room
@ChrisS At Lookers Guildford they did 90% of the handover in the showroom, very comfortable and not draughty at all. The remaining 10% was a chance to see all of the panels in daylight, check the ignition, parking pilot, roof operation, top up the fuel (20L) and go for a short check/test drive.

2 whole weeks knowing my Cali is waiting for me in Devon
To lighten the pain may I suggest you contact O'Connor's in Okehampton [very nice people] to see if they want to add it to their hire fleet of T6's you could earn about £800 a week on that deal!

Not a red herring after all - this light strip can be switched between either Driving mode or Camping mode.
  • Driving mode links the light strip (aka Cocktail Bar Mood Lighting) to the behaviour of the door open/close setting (rocker switch in the centre top console) and will operate along with the front cabin courtesy lights.
  • Camping mode is for manual switching on/off/dimming.
  • See California Supplement page 31 when you get yours
Sorry to have hogged your thread recently. In the meanwhile, how are the Classes of Build Week 45, 46, 47 etc coming along...are any of you reaching Hyper Stalking Graduation anytime soon?
Wk 46 soon to be graduate I hope! I know it's at Sheerness but haven't managed to talk to the dealer yet to confirm when I'm likely to pick it up.... having to contain myself by adding to the list of 'essential' things I never knew I needed to buy! ;)

Thats the way to do it :)

Wk 46 soon to be graduate
Nice and laid back there @Properjob - if logic prevails yours could/should be ready the week after next. But what do I know?

having to contain myself
Good approach - aim to be minimalist and travel light until you really know you need something, otherwise the loft, shed, garage and kitchen cupboards will be full of boxed unused gizmos. Looking back in older threads here, there appears to be a good few cases of over purchasing. Think of how many campsites fees (Fun Tokens), or litres of diesel for that matter, there are in every £100 saved, .

Good morning folks of the Class of Build Weeks 44, 45, 46, 47 etc

One specific item for you to all check at your forthcoming collection handover: Be extra diligent and check all of the seat belt buckles, in particularly the operation of red latch release button.

Of all of the millions of moving parts on a California the red latch release button in the front passenger seat safety belt is jammed on our new California. This could be a one off, or it could be a faulty batch, or there is a foreign object in there from the factory - I am betting on a piece of Braunschweiger Mettwurst . Either way do be sure to check yours as many of you seem to have long trips to make for your collections and repeating that journey a few days later would be a pain.

I will let you know how we get on when I call the service team tomorrow.

In the meanwhile it's far from a crisis - we've be out locally a few time and had Sunday breakfast in our local Royal Park -

@2020 freedom note the cocktail bar light strip in Camping Mode

Hey Pete,
Sorry to hear about your seat belt buckle. Nuisance!!!
Thanks for the pic too...
A bit of a teaser or have you posted more photos elsewhere? I haven't been on te forum today until now as I have been packing for the move....think its time to take 5 minutes out and have a look incase you have hidden them.
:pinkbanana

Thanks Pete. Sounds like you got good service from Lookers. Not sure I'll take up the suggestion of letting O'Connors rent my van out before I've even got to use it, even if they are very nice people! :-D

Yep - a screen grab from a little video the dealer sent me of the van just having been driven off the transporter. It's a bit low quality with glare from sun, but you get the idea.... 2 tone (white and starlight blue metallic) Beach...:thumb

I see also @Pete_Hampton has managed to take a shot for a new avatar but unlike you and I, without a little blue bit of foam where the number plate should go.

Nice blue foam there Jans2 :thumb

What build week were you Jans?

“Estimated build week 44”
Arrived in UK 22 November
Arrived at Dealership 28 November
Sent off for tracker, immobiliser and dashcam to be fitted .... then off to detailers asap!

If that came into Sheerness it actually would have been the 21st (same boat as mine).
Who's the dealer?

You see - I definitely wasn’t paying attention (can’t stand the suspense). I bought it through Breeze, Poole where Jim Hart has been politely and patiently answering my many, many questions and is probably suffering RSI after typing all the options I went for!

An update on post number 79 for future Build Time Hyper Stalkers :welcome.

My time line for ordering and taking delivery.
I'm not suggesting this is good, bad, quick, slow or typical.
However I'm not alone in that very similar timescales have been experienced by most of the contributors to this thread up to the date of this post :thumb.

future Build Time Hyper Stalkers
You are leaving a great legacy on the eve of your graduation. I hope the new recruits are as meticulous as all of us.

Pick up - day 67

A bit slack on the last requirement....but not for long.

Nothing confirmed for me yet...response from dealer yesterday was...

'transport order was raised on the 30/11/17 it can take up to 10 working days to arrive but we are expecting it to arrive sooner.'

I'll see if Ishmahil has any better news today.

OK - so it's well over 19 hours into collection day and I have been drumming my fingers on the table, pacing back and forth, reading chapter after chapter of our new California Ocean Owner's Manual, monitoring AA Roadwatch for all routes between Tonbridge and Hampshire, viewing all the online traffic cameras in the South East just incase he whizzes by, all as I pass the time waiting to hear from @2020 freedom with news of his brand new California...

Maybe he simply stopped on route for supply of stick-on coat hooks, or to reprogramme the Sat Nav but now can't make head nor tail of the Latvian route instructions, or perhaps he is just standing out in the driveway admiring his new purchase...
