Retro fit RNS 510 no satnav in dashboard

Retrofitted an RNS 510 - all is well apart from not seeing the compass and direction arrows in the dashboard colour MFD in satnav mode. It was fitted by my local VW dealer that I bought the van from. Is it a coding issue? Or am I expecting too much? Any thoughts much appreciated

Coding 100%. Essentially your van needs to be 'told' it has a RNS510 so it can Display the directions on the MFD. 5 minute job.

You need to take it back to the stealers or find someone local with a VCDS cable (or buy one).

The fact your VW Dealer doesn't know this is appalling.

Thanks v much for the info and the offer of help. I think I'll firstly go back to the dealer. They said at the time they rarely retrofit RNS 510's so perhaps now by suggesting a solution it will sort itself out.

Yes, very easy with VCDS, there is a box that needs ticking basically, and then you get the compass and full prompts in the MFD. We retrofit loads at our place.
