Side door not unlocking

The sliding door sometimes doesn’t unlock but sometimes does. When it doesn’t you can manually open from inside.

Anyone have a thought not what’s up?

Might depend on which vehicle you have as there have been a few changes over the years.
It would help if you complete the details regarding the vehicle you have.

There was a thread on here about this. Mine does it sometimes. One person had been quoted hundreds by VW for new sliding door lock but fixed it by removing the door panel and lubricating the rod/cable in the lock mechanism. Not tried it myself yet as my door has started opening again all by itself?
