Strange tape on roof

I’ve just inspected the roof drains for the first time and saw this piece of tape on the nearside only. I’ve owned the Cali from new so it’s either come from the factory or the dealer when they had it in the showroom. It’s not doing any harm but seems odd? Had anyone else had this?

go faster stripe, that is one dirty under the front roof area can not recall our Candy White T5 getting that dirty there in 5 years - and I am not one for obsessional van cleaning.

The tape is reminiscent of smaller pieces of tape I have seen in the roof area - both outside and inside the canvas bellows. I think the tape is to cover potential sharp edges that may snag/damage the soft fabrics used in the roof lining/upper bed etc. but quite why the tape in your photo is where it is, I'm not sure as there are no sharp edges in that area.
