Still sitting in the factory despite a week 15 build....

What's the cause? Well there seems to be a shortage of Silver Awnings & Heated Front Screens at the moment folks...:(
Hurray!

She's finally out of the factory after some parts shortages.

Wonder if they were sitting in it, with the table up for their coffee breaks, while it sat at the side of the assembly line...:D

Anyway, onwards to Emden & then the Port Of Tyne.

Get in there! :)

Yesterday we received a call from our dealer - with grand news. Our van has been built (that we ordered on 20th Jan) and it should be with us next month :)
We plan to go to the Yorkshire Dales for our maiden voyage and WOMAD :bananadancewill be our first festival in the van.

Great news. What week number was your build?

Thanks Blubus. According to our dealer the build week moved a bit from 16 to 19.

Yep thats about the same date's I got..
orderd 30 jan (week4)
build date week 21 (end of this month)
With the importer In Belgium on week 23
delivery promised week 26(end of june)
So thats a margen of 2 to 3 weeks from the importer to te garage , who are just 120 miles or so apart!!
Belgium really isn' t that big..lol , and no sea between factory and garage..;-)
Dealer said I could get it sooner....as te dates use quite a bit of "worst case scenario"....
Hope to get it a few days before "rock werhter" (1st juli)thats our firts festival with the cali...

My god, this has been the worst waiting ever. I ordered a Beach in January, first got mid June as production week, it moved to July and then September.
Now I asked dealer again and it seems I will get it in the end of July :)

I just got off the phone to the dealer. I was hoping to collect 'my' Cali this Friday. It was built in week 16 and it now sits at the docks. However, it has failed consignment along with up to 100 other similar vehicles according to the dealer.

VWCS cannot give him definite info as to the reason but there was a hint that it could be emission related. I am hoping that this is just a paperwork cockup and nothing more serious as the consequences do not bear thinking about. I am seriously depressed at the moment.

Anybody else had any good/bad news regarding imminent delivery recently? I hope I am worrying over nothing. :sad:sad:sad:sad

I don't see how "emissions " would stop a vehicle being loaded onto the ship, that would happen when the dealer tried to register the vehicle.
More likely yet another Vw upcock for which they are becoming famous. The California side of the business seems to be in total disarray judging by what you read on this forum.

Don't worry.

You are probably right. The Cali is at a UK dock awaiting consignment. I believe that means it has to meet certain criteria before being allowed into the country to be registered. This is where it has failed :(

We had Week 16 build date and were also provisionally picking up this Friday. "Disappeared" from system for a few days and now reappeared with provisional build date of week 39!! Dealer is as in the dark as we are and both trying to get clarity from VWCV customer services. I've been told they'll update me on Friday.

Thanks for the info. This is getting quite ridiculous. Good luck.

Thanks. Really not sure what to do. Found a buyer for our T5 but don't want it to let it go if we've still got 6 months to wait for the new Van.

That is very odd. How long ago was the pickup booked? Hope Vw can get answers soon.

We first suspected a problem when confirming the pick up date. Apparently the dealer group has "lost" 6 vans. One person has already cancelled their order .... presumably out of frustration and loss of confidence on VW. The whole situation is farcical!

Ordered an ocean 204 4 motion April 11th , have an expected delivery date of August 1st. But have not been given an official build week

Just seen an email from the dealer apologising for the delay. There was an attachment fron VW Commercial Vehicles stating:

'Just to advise that the vehicle has a CO2 error which has caused it to fail consignment. It has been sent to the Product Team for them to fix.'

Any idea what this may mean? Perhaps a paperwork error? Surely this must be a routine process :(

CO2 error means emissions problems...

following the subject as I am also waiting for my delivery
I find the delivery dates you guys got in the UK quite"optimistic" to say the least
I mean ...orderd in mid april and delivery in august,,,,????
last month my dealer told me ,, orders taken now is delivery in jan 2017!!
I tink the dea

We were supposed to be buying used but have now decided to purchase a brand new Cali, however I have just called two dealers and been advised we won't expect a new Cali before January 2017 !!!! So 7+ months for delivery?

7+ months delivery won't harm second hand prices.
But it's a shame if you have to wait.

Good to hear that the 2 dealers are being realistic with you, instead of taking your deposit, promising the world, then blaming the factory. Just to add to what you said - when I spoke to my dealer last Friday, he said anyone ordering today is looking at a February 2017 collection. This sounds grim.

You'd think it was high-time that VW started shaking a leg, given all these orders that are being placed & the associated delays. It would surely cost money to increase/speed-up production capability though. I suppose VW are probably not feeling overly flush at the moment, considering the amount of fines, buy-backs, compensation in the USA & possibly other parts of the world due to the emissions scandal. Perhaps if it were not for that, we would have seen big improvements already?
