This week I've bought '________' for my Cali

Where did you get this and what is it referred to? I have a small dehumidifier and wanted to use when off mains.

thanks
..me..
I’m in Norway and bought a Euro Type C extension. I trimmed the plastic from the socket and inserted a standard U.K. to Euro adapter. This allows me to place the dehumidifier anywhere in the van. It’s currently in the boot. If you’re in the U.K. this should work. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B013UXQDQ8/?tag=eliteelect-21

It folds small and I keep it somewhere easy to access so I’ve been using it for all sorts including an extra seat, a small table and even for some snowboard prep.

Excellent. Very jealous. I have what looks like an identical stool to that one and it fits in with the chairs.

What do you do with all your wet/damp clothes?
I put boots on the step and gloves and hats on the floor just behind the drivers seat. I hang goggles on the lifted drivers seat arm-rest. I then hang clothes on the back of the two seats. With the heater on level one or two and the top popped it a window cracked for ventilation and a mini 25W dehumidifier on permanently everything dries nicely and I’ve had no problems with damp.

Just out of interest @California4x4 what did you end up calling your van?

Hell’s teeth, that looks cold. I’ll stick with Biarritz in June for my camping.

I remember your suggestions well. Simply ‘Cali’ has stuck. It’s my first one after wanting one for over a decade. Also my Instagram account is called Cali_the_campervan after the van I built in California when I was living there. Thanks again.

This week we bought a folding BBQ to attempt to replace my cast iron one which I love. Two insulated cups that fit the cup holders. Tongues to turn the BBQ burgers. Kitchen utensil set that will fit in the cutlery drawer unlike our normal kitchen ones which are too long.

Despite serious inspection we didn't buy a safari chef or the fiamma levellers which I fancy.

I. Need. To. Get. This!

Seriously though, this will help with the kids getting cold. How are you finding it works and where did you purchase from if you don’t mind me asking?
All the best

I’m sure Marc Maier at https://www.caliheat.de/shop/ won’t mind me passing on his website. I have just tested fitting it today but haven’t yet tried it for sleeping. It seems well made and appears to be 3D printed rather than mass produced. The website claims to take 20-30% of the heat and transfer it. It doesn’t feel like much on first testing it. I’ll review it when I use it for camping in a couple of weeks.

What it should do is balance the heat slightly better as it will reduce the heat flow down below and push some of it up top. We’ll see. It’s certainly the best option I’ve seen so far.

Thanks for your balanced feedback. Would you mind letter us know how you get on?

€92 is that not a lot for a length of tube and a fitting? Or am I missing something?

De humidifier is a great idea for ski gear, what type do you use? I found this one on line https://www.aircondirect.co.uk/p/88...2jU8vb561SsAMnrbaCsW828klyC0GFyRoCr6cQAvD_BwE

That looks like a good option. The one I use has a smaller capacity. It has only filled up once when I was away for two weeks. I normally pour half a cup of water out every couple of days while living in the van. I use this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00NP3IUO2/?tag=eliteelect-21

It has a mains lead but runs on 9V 2.5 amps. I’ve just ordered one of these so I can run it from a 12v socket rather than through the inverter as it will be much more efficient than effectively taking 12v to 240v to 9V which is what it’s currently doing.

It will need to join the original cable to this device for it to function but it will be beat when it’s complete.
