Time to choose

Wow , have to say I prefer manual for gunning costs but DSG is smooth.

Someone mentioned 15%discount are you kidding the new demo 150 ps manual less than 200 miles is 51k ... which is £2k cheaper already but they are not budging on price .
We got +15% discount on our current T6 Beach in 2016, I believe from the same dealer that Amarillo obtained his from. Our Beach had 171 miles on the clock when we picked it up after having been their demonstrator for just under three months. We asked for and were given (purchased) the two year extended warrantee offer that applies to new vehicles and also purchased the two service package. From memory this cheap service package was conditional on our taking out VW finance to purchase the vehicle. We did borrow a small amount on VW finance to get the offer but then paid off the loan almost immediately.
At that time VW were worried about the impact of the recently announced emissions scandal so were offering a £1000 loyalty bonus on new vehicles. I have just remembered that the 15% discount that I quoted included that sweetner. In addition, the market will have changed since we purchased that vehicle however you should still be able to negotiate a good deal as there are plenty of Californias around at present (around ninety on the VW commercial website). There were only a handfull available then.
Can I suggest you give Laine Watts a call at VW Commercial Southern Motor Group, Tonbridge, Kent. He is very knowledgable when it comes to Californias and has given us two very good deals to date.

Yes - we are aware that we probably spent about 5% more by having our exact specification van. But we have everything we want and haven't paid for anything we don't want, such as the 'comfort' dash (we prefer the uncomfortable version).

I think great deals on pre reg demos/ nearly new will be hard to find as the supply of new ones has come to a complete standstill.

looked at some pre reg well specced with very low mileage at city gate colindale in November. i bought elsewhere as got better deal but salesman was most upset cause he reckoned he could have done more on the price
some are still up for sale 53000 to 55000 advertised so chance your arm

Tip I got from here was say you're about to sign elsewhere can he do a better deal?

Looks fab
And the comfort lighting is a nice touch mine has it I really like it.
Might be a daft question but
You did notice it doesn’t have privacy glass yes??
Just thought I’d mention.
Not an absolute must but Nice to have
Although there’s always aftermarket tint .

Yes had noticed and not overly fussed but like you say I can always get it done later if it is an issue.
It’s a lovely drive , much much better than I thought it would be

Cheers bud, the defender is staying
Had been trying to talk the good wife into a 110 with a pop top roof but after driving the Cali , even I can’t argue which is best for what we do.
Deals pretty much done so just a matter of dotting i’s and crossing the t’s and haggle about a few free bees now deal is done

What free bees should I ask for? Lol

A bike rack might be pushing it
But u can always try
Seat covers and matts at the least.:)
Good luck

These were my old landrovers , sold now but not forgotten

Very tidy , none of mine have ever looked that good lol
Mine tend to be covered in mud n muck
Yep these were not long after the picture
Spent so much time making them perfect to undo it all in a day.
But that’s what landrovers are supposed to look like
Landrovers need to be muddy :)

I’m good at that could bore you with more but guess should focus on the Cali as it’s a California forum lol

My other passion ..
But yep this is a Cali forum so I’ll stop too
I’m sure you will get the same amount of fun out of the California:)
Enjoy bud

Van looks great, fair price only issue is whether you would regret not going for the Automatic. Its obviously a personal choice but I after driving dsg I would never go back to manual

Tip Citygate were doing free bike rack with any cali bought in Oct/Nov so may well have a couple sitting around. Good Luck
