Toilet tents

Am I the only one using the Portapotti inside the Cali, so I have more space, more sound insulation, no worries about wind or rain, and a sink right next to me to wash my hands?
Especially at night, no need to open and close (slam) the door and wake everybody up...
Does this work with downstairs bed in position? Is there room? Looked like it might be a bit tight. I bought a posh loo tent and will post a review when its unpacked!

We have a pop-up toilet tent made by Alpro, stows away nicely under the rear shelf/mattress in it's 20" round bag. The loo is from the Range & fits in a bag underneath.

With front passenger seat turned we fit a porta potti 335 in between bed and front seat. Not lots of room but it works - just.

It’s bad enough that you need to use a big van potti...
But then, having to carry, erect and dismantle a bloody tent. Nah, I would rather drop the kids off in the woods...

I used to agree, but since Mrs Loz had her bowel op last year....... there is no way its staying in the van as I would have to sleep in a respirator :):sad:mute

Loz

Mrs Soul has made me buy a Thetford...
She refuses to sh1t in a bag and after being caught peeing whilst wild camping, she’s laid down some demands...

335 Thetford due any day...:sorry

We've not used this in extreme weather but have in "usual" British weather (wind/rain) and it's been fine. It's pop-up so really easy and quick to put up/pack away. From Decathlon. We've never needed to guy it down, the pegs for the corners have been enough so far...

We have one of these and have had to guy it down several times, but it’s easy. The top is open which is good in one way and bad in another

Good: it’s great for showering, no condensation
Bad: if it Rains anything in it’s not protected (including you sat on the loo

It’s too tall to fit under the roll out awning. At festivals we often have it by a side door for our driveaway awning.

Mostly we use it for showers, but haven’t bothered with it for a while as have tended to create a shower area in the driveaway awning tunnel with some shower curtains that can be tied back when not in use.

One good thing about it Is it’s pop up and once you get the hang of it you can pop it up and down very quickly (packs really flat too).

I feel your pain.
We have this portapotti too. Much better than the Dometic equivalent as you can get individual spare parts. When our seal went on our Dometic we had to pay almost the cost of a new loo for A whole new lower chamber.

Nice to hear from you again Elly.

One of these maybe....

Or something cheaper....

You are not alone. We keep ours inside.

What do you use for a shower and I assume you just end up with a bit of wet grass in the Tunnel?

We use a Porta Potti inside for desperate kids During the night. We push the drivers seat as far forward as possible (not rotated) and put it in the doorway. First thing that goes outside when I open the sliding door in the morning.

Following this thread with interest. I took the opportunity this week as it was my wife’s birthday and our joint wedding anniversary to treat her to the purchase of a porta potti.
Surprisingly, she is far from enamoured with this token as a celebration of our union or her celebrating 45 years on this mortal coil, and although I have assured her that the criteria for 14 years of wedded bliss was “ Ivory “ and that is ( nearly) the colour of her new accessory , she doesn’t consider the cubed plastic pot as an adequate gift. Hopefully if I take the above advice re a tent to house her prezzie will cheer her up a bit. Thanks

Hahaha, good luck with that one
Your mistake was making it a birthday / wedding anniversary present.
I’m a bloke and even I can see this going down like a lead balloon. All her friends asking “and what did hubby buy you...........?”

At least the tent will give you somewhere to sleep until she calms down.

Thetford 335, Kampa Loo Loo tent and chemicals just ordered for les than £110. Hoping this addition will also now open up smaller sites with only water and a waste point to us.

That’s a really good price - think I paid £90 for the pot alone ( because she’s worth it...) with no chemicals.

She got a chocolate orange, and a bottle of cherry gin too!
One thing I’ve learned after 14 years is not to set her aspirations too high ( it’s really not that hard being married to me!)
I’m also currently trying to find ways to persuade her that a big solar panel is either an “essential family purchase” or a handy Father’s Day present ....
