Hello,
Has anyone tried out upgrade the fresh water tank capacity? I don't really use spare tyre so I think this 68L extra will be good for use. But I want to connect it to the existing T6.1 ocean current 30L fresh water tank and use the same system. Don't know how the connection will be, I guess need to route a pipe connect both tank together? and place the pump in the underneath tank?

Thanks

This is a new one on me! It's not something we would need. However, the VW brochure quotes 25L only for the fresh water tank, so if you're off grid I can understand it.
I would want to be sure of an extra 50kg hanging about under the back of the van (assuming 20kg spare wheel being lost), would that affect the rear suspension and loading. Do you use a towbar/bikerack that might exacerbate this?
Plus I assume you'd need to find somewhere for a tyre weld thing to remain MOT compliant?

You do realise that the 4 Motion does have lowest weight capacity of the range. You cannot fit a 5th seat because of the weight limitation. Adding 70 Kgms over the back axle will preclude carrying any bicycles on a tailgate or Towbar rack as you could be overweight.
What will you be doing with the excess waste water? 98 L is certainly greater volume than the waste tank and Porta Potti combined.

Unless crossing the desert, would you need that amount of water? Never had an issue finding water when off-grid.

Actually we own a small "forest" in Kent, sometimes we would live in there for the weekend. I want to use that extra water for shower and living. Ye weight will be a problem I guess need to upgrade the suspension then. Otherwise easist is just carry some water cans and refill ...

are you sure we need to have the spare tyre on to pass MOT? I thought MOT dont check if you have spare tyre or not.

Maybe a Water Bowser trailer. Could be filled and left on site for a few weekends.

You don't need a spare tyre for your MOT.
