It looks like its upside down.It has 2 spring loaded locking pins which keeps it in position, try forcing it down and it should lock in position, looks like it hasn’t been fully engaged when built up or someone has taken the side panel off at some time and dislocated it to remove panel.

240V in-vehicle supply - is it good? & HOW TO GET YOUR PLUG TO SIT FLAT
So, am I the only one with a 300w 2 pin socket on a T6.1 Coast? :( Don't worry too much. Coasts sold in Europe would have a 2 pin socket. Just get an adapter. BUT don't leave it plugged in when not using the inverter. The previous inverter has a microswitch activated by plugging in a plug or...vwcaliforniaclub.com

No worries, appreciate the help.Oh dear, I’m so sorry - in my haste to help I didn’t read the question’ properly !!!
I should have looked more closely - best of luck !
Thanks for the info.Yeah, the face panel is plastic welded to the trim. Remove the top and bottom trims, just push fit, no need to remove seat belt, there is enough room to wiggle it over, then the wiring and connector are visible, 2 plastic sprung clips keep it in position. Replacing the panels is fiddly, just take your time and feed the seat belt back through. I removed mine recently to rewire top 12v socket!
