What have you bought for your Cali today :-)

Bought outwell fallcrest and hillcrest tarps for when my beach is built :)
Same here! Been sat on a stock alert for months and finally got an email overnight. I had looked at the Welsh made ones, which would have been nice, support local biz, but OOS and only front.

Direct from outwell they in stock!

Thanks for posting this - just ordered some in anticipation of our van arriving sometime this year. This and the S2S mattress are the only things I’ve allowed myself to buy before the van but it’s hard to resist getting more stuff - my wish list is so long thanks to this thread!

Managed to get hold of a Sea2Summit Campervan Self inflating mattress to replace our current memory foam topper on the lower bed.
We managed to get one a few weeks ago - going to try it out for the first time over the Easter break. It takes up so much less space than my Duvalay!

Remoska Tria! Bought it for the flexibility as you can use it as a pan or electric oven as well as a casserole dish in the oven when at home. But now thinking it’s a little bit big for a Cali and should have gone for the Standard Remoska instead! :headbang

I’ve had Remoskas for years and wouldn’t even take the small Standard in a campervan. Too risky with that burning hot lid for me. At the Mo I have the Grand and the Tria. Both fabulous for the kitchen at home but not for me in the van. Also you have to be on EHU as even with solar panels they are too much for the inverter socket.

Lots of campervanners use an Omnia stovetop cooker ( https://www.omniasweden.com/us/ ) on the gas hob. You can also be quite creative with Ridgemokey pans (https://ridgemonkey.co.uk/products/cooking). If you search on here you’ll find posts on both.

A sink bowl from @Gary&Heather ……. Yes I know they melt, they’re small and are probably not so useful (I do mean the sink bowl not Gary and Heather :D) but our van didn’t have one and now it does:cool:

20220406_184726.jpg100 watt solar panel from Roger + Solar Camper Solutions. Very straight forward installation - hardest bit was feeding the flexicable through the rear door grommet and into the wardrobe. A drop of rubber lubricant spray and extra long tie wrap to feed the cable helped. Bluetooth app for the controller works well with an input of 36w seen at 8:30 this morning. Will get a good test over Easter when we are away for 5 days with no EHU!

That does look tidy :thumb did it take long to fit?

Total time was probably around 90 minutes - most of that was routing and fixing the cables. Connecting to the controller, and to the battery was very straightforward once the cables were all in the right places. Took my time to make sure I got it right rather than trying to rush it. And also tested it was all working before tightening/sticking it all down.

Magic, thanks @Mattsv

Thanks Elly - I had seen your post about the Tria. It does look a great piece of kit and I will probably keep it for at home. It's interesting you have two for use at home. I had hoped to be able to take one in the van for when we are on hook up (at the moment with two teenagers we are generally on sites with hook ups and wifi!!), but also plan to buy a RiverPro or Jackery eventually to allow us to go off grid a bit more.

We do have Ridgemonkeys but I wanted something a bit more versatile, but the Tria is very big so not sure I can fit it into a small van!

Ye
Nice idea, does the canopy close okay with it in place?
It closes perfectly. It’s got a a small usb connector on the end which just ticks in neatly when closed. I just connect the usb extension cable when I’m using it.

They look great! Where did you get those from, if you don't mind me asking?
The LEDs are 1.5m long with sticky back tape so
perfect for the awning.

The USB connector goes into the cigarette lighter socket next to the back seat.

And lastly you need a usb extension cable with a male and female end. I bought a 3m cable but 4m would be better so you can tuck it round the rail.

Brilliant! Thank you. I need to be able to see what we are burning on the Cadac too!!

When I went to connect our old trailer the other day I discovered that the van has a 13 pin socket  ……. No problem…… bought one of these, it’s great:thumb

Is there a "What have you made for your cali today" thread? Anyway, got busy with the sewing machine this week and made a mattress bag and a padded bag for a spare gas bottle - to stop it scratching the interior. 20220409_172600.jpg20220409_172531.jpg20220409_221642.jpg
