I'm in the same situation and relaxed this month - it has reduced to 180 for a California Ocean! I'm guessing yours is from April which is why its higher?I got my tax car tax renewal letter through the post today and was happy to see that is has now gone down to £258 per year instead of almost £600 due to the luxury car tax. My Cali is a 2019 model.
I believe an Ocean should not be subject to the luxury car tax and should be taxed at the PLGV flat rate rate of £335, which goes up to £345 next month. £180 was the car flat rate in 2023-2024.I'm in the same situation and relaxed this month - it has reduced to 180 for a California Ocean! Mine was like that but explained by it being a part year of higher rate and lower rate.Mmmm not too sure. I’ll check. Why would it be higher?
Correct but in 2019 there was some changes and they got classed as cars. It was only for a short time. Benefit is that they are now cheaper to tax!I believe an Ocean should not be subject to the luxury car tax and should be taxed at the PLGV flat rate rate of £335, which goes up to £345 next month. £180 was the car flat rate in 2023-2024.
That’s quite a price increase from £180 to £258. Well I’m sure there is nothing I can do about it. Bette than paying £600….Hi. Mine is a December 2019 Ocean that I have put off road every winter because of that terrible luxury car tax applied. The road tax is 180 for March 2025-26. Not sure why yours is 268 John, unless it's increased from April?
I think the break-even is around 15 years.. so we have a while to go yet!Correct but in 2019 there was some changes and they got classed as cars. It was only for a short time. Benefit is that they are now cheaper to tax!
