1990....I was caught there speeding faster than that but they did not bother to breatherlise me as my driving was fine...silly thing to do though and I regret it.

I see what you mean and I think the tone of that tweet seems a bit too celebratory to be professional (particularly the hashtag) but I would argue that greater communication of police action acts as an increased deterrent to potential offenders.

Something doesn't sit right with me, would a Cali owner really be ploughing down the A30 at 112mph. The speedo must have been reading at least 120 to get booked at that speed.

I think their use of social media is good - it's a reminder of what they are doing; it's a deterrent to some who need deterring and overall it just makes the Police seem more real and part of the Community. It's basically free crime prevention using the deterrent effect and vital as local rags seem to be dying slowly.

I do cringe at some publicity - imagine publicity but turning out to be wrongful arrest. But generally I think it's a good thing & Police use it a lot in my area.

I hope so. I just wish I knew where all the drivers were who put my children's lives at risk and I knew who they were.
