Current vote is for the 1st weekend in September

The cost is £52 per van for the entire weekend, you can check in from 10am Friday and checkout is 3pm Sunday, hookup is included.

You will get 10% off all food and drink at the club house for the whole stay (breakfast through dinner).

To be clear they have a no windbreak rule, as they like the site to feel open and I have to admit it does feel nice and spacious. The site is wholly reserved for caravans and motorhomes.

The river taxi is £2 a trip into town starting from 10am and the last one leaves at 5pm from the site, and 5.20pm from the town back to site. We walked into town in about 25-30 minutes.

To book simply call the site and quote VW California Club, this will ensure we are all kept together.

Lastly they do charge for drive away awnings and dogs, however we didn't get charged for our wind out "sunshade" on my Cali. It is probably only worth mentioning on booking if your awning has sides. They also apparently have a dog daycare available, although we didn't use this last time.

It's a very well equipped site with restaurant (campers get a discount here for the whole weekend). We had ten vans last year but it would be good to get more and even perhaps get enough to use the event field (with hookup).

Judging by the photos the no windbreak rule doesn't count for awning sides then?

and, is there river access for paddle boarding?

There was no issues with awnings or sunshades.

There is a small pontoon for access to the river not sure if it's useable but can check with them. There is a park area with shallows where people launch kayaks so either way yes its possible.

Berlin marathon in September Matt so unless it's first or second week I cannot make it :sad

I've mailed the site to get a view of the event field and its availability. Currently very close indeed with first week slightly ahead, then 2nd then 3rd.

Can't do 1st weekend Matt as returning from a tour of the Maginot Line, but we are keen to do the 2nd. Planning to do west coast of Scotland about then and may well use Stratford as our start point.

Site can support any of the dates, so keep voting if interested.
We could always have two mini meets ;)

Would be a nice local one for us Matt but likely to be away in September - just don't know the dates yet? I haven't voted as I am not certain I can make any date but we'll come along if free on the date you choose.

Dave

Yes please will definitely book but can only do 1st weekend as we are booked in Cornwall for other 2 Thanks Sheila Michael and Coco.

As I'm usually up for a meet but my calendar for the year is almost full already (we ARE a quarter through the years already!) I got carried away and voted for the first date but now I've looked at the site is it possible to UNvote? Really not my sort of place at all, much too big and regimented!

Sorry to be a nuisance!

We'd be interested in this one. I've no idea of dates, but my boy will be leaving me for uni sometime around the middle of Sept (muffled sob), assuming he gets his finger out and passes his A levels. Keep us posted. Thanks.

Ok that seems pretty conclusive for the 1st weekend in Sept for the meet.

I should say if people are really keen for the other weekends I am sure the site would accommodate. The site deal with the bookings too so its not extra admin for us, it would be smaller meets but if people wanted to meet other owners it may be handy. I can only make one date personally however. :)

I have contacted the site and confirmed the initial date as 1st Sept. If you want to book simply quote "VW California" and they will put us all together. The site is obviously very popular as it's in Stratford so the sooner you book the better. Last year sadly the site got full and people were disappointed. Price has increased by £2 since last year to £52.

All pitches include hookup, please read their rules however before booking as they have some rules regarding windbreaks and tents.

I'm interested in the 1st weekend , has we are down that way that week. Sounds like a good venue. Ian

Spoke to the site today, they;ve had quite a few bookings already, looking like it will be a good one. No limit other than the site capacity at the moment. :)
