What have you done with your California today?

Thanks so much for the above.
We are heading back to the Gower for a couple of days tomorrow. Then off home to Dartmoor.
We will be back
Back at the Towy Bridge Inn tonight for a drink & meal.

Finally I removed my oil filter after been done up by dealer last year took 3 different filter removal tools 2 damaged now and a 2 foot bar you know when a job is done well now .Dealer blame oil cooler for cooking filter seal so beware any one on long life service plan . Dealer they have to remove front end t to get it off.

One of our criteria before buying our Cali was that we must have a van which we could drive off in for the day whilst away on a camping trip. We wanted the flexibility. We bought our van in April 2017 and today for the very first time, whilst away in Ireland, we have lowered the roof and driven off for a day out before returning to our pitch for a G&T in the early evening sunshine.

It was so quick and easy to get ready to drive off and also to re-set our camp. Usually when we drive off we are also moving on elsewhere. At last we have done it!

Just returned from a 3 day free camp in the Scottish Borders.

Just got back from a trip to the lakes, the pictures are from the layby we spent the night, a lovely view from the bedroom window, it was a nice one mile walk into Ambleside.

This idea is copied from several other fora where it always seems popular.
I'll kick it off and say this morning I chauffeured my wife 50 miles to a meeting and visited the local VW retail centre whilst I waited for her meeting to conclude. Had a look over the new Tiguan, it seems practical and fairly well equipped.
The journey there and back was smooth and relaxing, confirming that the Cali. is just as versatile as a run around as it is camper van.
I popped over to the hillfoots for a coffee!

Ikea, that’s what we did with our Cali today.
Camping gear out, bench folded down and single rear seat fitted so the front passenger could be pushed forward to get the 2.4m long flat pack in.

Bala lake, great site right on the lake. Take a Steam train into Bala town, which has the best ice cream shop in the world and then work it off with a nice walk back along the hillside with great views across the lake. Perfect!

What were the contact details for this site please? We live not far away and this looks like a lovely 'quick night away throw a bottle of wine in the van' site!

As you can see on the map and photos the train leaves Llangower and runs to Bala, we walked back along the top of the hills with great views down to the lake. It’s all signed up quite well. Or you could take your bikes and cycle back.

Campsite is really good with very clean facilities but gets booked up quickly. You can also launch your SUP or kayaks from the shores.

Nice to have a campfire on the shore in the evening and watch the sunset....

My drive has been busier than a dealers forecourt often is, today.

Packing to get away tomorrow and 3 separate occasions people asked about the Cali so got a look round. One was a friend who hired one for three months a year ago and now looking t buy, one from my neighbour over the road who puts my bins out for me on mondays when I am away, and hoping to talk hubby into wanting one and once two complete strangers walking their dog down to the beach, stopped to tell me how beautiful Alfie was and confessed to owning a Bilbo years ago.

At least I know the roof works, it's been up and down three times :D
