New T6.1 order delays

Ordered a 204 Ocean on 1st Feb. The only options asked for are Bayleaf Green paint, outside shower and safe in wardrobe. When ordering dealer expected end June build. First and so far only provisional build is week 2 of 2022. Hoping this gets pulled forward and not pushed back

As an update, my hope to get an earlier build seems to have come true. Have a confirmed build date of week 34, which is 23 August. The dealer emailed me on 3 September! So my van had been in build for 10 days and I didn't know . Now my hope is for end October beginning November collection. Perhaps this dream will come true as well?

Not sure I understood everything, however if the a new Cali had been damaged under VW custody prior to delivery, i’d expect a permanent solution from the dealer and fast . Depends on the nature of the damage. If it’s just paint job stuff, id go with their repairs, but if it was more id want to know the exact nature the damage, the exact nature of the repairs, and a free 5 year guarantee. Both VW Central and the dealer will have complete insurance.

I don't believe, at least in the UK, there is any Legal Obligation for a Dealer to inform the purchaser of a new vehicle of any damage/repairs carried out on a new vehicle prior to payment/handover/registration of said new vehicle. You could argue that that is indefensible but there is a thriving business in repairing new vehicles due to damage being incurred during transportation from factory to Dealership. The purchaser would never know in the vast number of cases. Such repairs take place at the ports of departure and arrival as well as the Dealership.

Call the dealer @meryvan - they are not proactive* so might be sitting on your info without passing it on. Your build week might be shifted due to the 3 weekfactory closure in August - but it seems likely you'll see your van in Nov, surely? Delivery from VW to Suisse must be pretty straightforward.

*That said, my dealer (VW Commercials Spain) called this morning with the weirdly specific delivery date of 24/2/22 (ordered April so that would be 10 mths leadtime if correct)

Last Thursday we received a confirmation that it will arrive at the dealer this week and will be ready on September 23. Going through this process has been a nightmare, but I'm sure it's worth it.

Hi, I ordered mine end of May, and haven't heard anything from the dealer (AMAG) till now, but I guess that's because it's only been 3 months since I've ordered...

Oh, lucky you! Like @meryvan I ordered a 150 in mid December and am also hesitant to ask the dealer. The last I heard mine was to be built in wk39, but that was provisional so unlikely to happen. @manevel 's news gives me a bit of hope that it won't be much longer now.

Long story short, they only have a clue as to what's on the production line for the next 14 days (used to be multiple months), and the order book is filled up, assuming current production rate, until December 2022.
All to be taken with a grain of salt, of course.

That doesn’t surprise me, my van (ordered Jan ‘21 150 ocean) has been in production since 19th July - it got to stage 5 by a fortnight ago and my latest update was that VW can no longer supply status updates and the dealer will just be told when it leaves the factory?! The dealer has been brilliant and I feel sorry for them having to give updates like that but VW should be ashamed of themselves for their sheer lack of effort to manage any type of customer service. In fairness, I’ve missed the summer now so it’ll get here when it gets here but, my patience is defo being tested
