New T6.1 order delays

No it’s listed as coming as standard - same as at T6.1 launch. However launch models never had it a bit like the fly screens.

Both items disappeared from the spec for 2021 models & & have reappeared.

Yep I got the flu screens and a huge net thing for the boot I think?

Isn't the huge net for the roof to to stop the kiddies falling down the hatch?

I don't believe, at least in the UK, there is any Legal Obligation for a Dealer to inform the purchaser of a new vehicle of any damage/repairs carried out on a new vehicle prior to payment/handover/registration of said new vehicle. You could argue that that is indefensible but there is a thriving business in repairing new vehicles due to damage being incurred during transportation from factory to Dealership. The purchaser would never know in the vast number of cases. Such repairs take place at the ports of departure and arrival as well as the Dealership.
Good point! Indeed maybe even mine has been damaged and I will never know. Just reinforces my own feelings that I am taking the max 5 year guarantee on my vehicle. I will be taking a good look at all the details, and it’s first trip away a couple of days after pick up will let me see if anything is a miss, I hope not

as this is an active forum...

Hi all
I've got my cali ocean 6.1 its away at the moment but just preparing for the first trip. I've got a COVE2 ari low vango tent. Do I need to buy a driveaway kit? if so, which one 6 mm or 4 mm?

Going friday.

Yes I bit the bullet and contacted Chat yesterday. It went into build last week, but the next stage Chat can 'see' is when it's left the factory for shipping. I understand the dealer can see its progress through the factory, but not Chat. Chat suggested I get back in touch in 2-3 weeks.
I decided to check and got the same info as you that it went into build last week. Now it feels a little more real.

We ordered a 2.0TDI 7SP DSG 4MOTION on 7 Jan 2021. We were originally given an estimated delivery date of April/May. This was later updated to September and we were then given a confirmed build week 26. With this confirmed build slot we were told to expect delivery in August and on this information we have optimistically been planning a holiday in Europe in September/October. The latest information from our dealer is that the vehicle is at build stage 7 - awaiting missing components (semiconductors). It appears to have been at this stage for a number of weeks now and the dealer is unable to get any further information about when to expect further progress. Is anybody else in a similar position and have you any more granular information about the forecast availability of these infamous semiconductors. Many thanks for your help

At the German forum the 4motion system (in combination with the 204hp) is told to be de cause of delays. Our 2wd 150hp Ocean which has build week 30, fully loaded with electronics is ready for pickup next week.

It looks as though things may be gathering pace. Out of the blue yesterday I was informed by the Dealer that we have a confirmed build week - w/c 27th September (Week 39).
The date we ordered was 25th February. Fingers crossed.....

So ordered 4th December 2020 and got it last Friday. Fully spec. I can’t tell you how painful it all was but as they say, the minute you drive it it just falls away.
204 S TDI 4 motion in Starlight Blue. Just love it.
It now being PPC so will show more pics when back and our first trip.
Hang in there everyone! I will miss this forum but it’s time for me to move on.
Catch you all soon
Chuffed for you Dean. Looks lovely and you're right about it being worth the wait in the end. We collected on 7 July and heading off tomorrow on our fifth mini break already. Can't get enough!

Great Graham
What’s your format? Book a site within a couple of hours, and go for a couple of night? Wild camp?

o/t but if i lived in the uk i’d be looking for pubs that have camping out the back. Excellent walking/running/cycling from the site. Simple facilites but lashings of real ale and a bit of scran to mop it up with.
There’s nothing quite like that anywhere else. So many amazing village/country boozers that i’ve never had a beer in coz i’m the only driver in the family!

Hopefully over in Easter 22 with a new Ocean to sample a few :thumb

Love it! You will share many happy miles. Pick ours up next Thursday, and on Sunday we are off to the French Atlantic coast for its maiden voyage with The Beach Boys for company. Catch some early Autumn rays and waves .

Enjoy your Cali !

Yes. Exactly the same as you. Been stuck at stage 7 for about 6 weeks now.

Update email from Jon at Breeze today. Order for Coast placed 19 July, currently status code 10 with unconfirmed build date week 14 which I guess could mean delivery around mid-May. I am sure it will be well worth the wait...
