Can I ask a daft question? What’s the deal with PPC? Is VW paint so bad it chips easily or is this just extra precaution?

well from my point of view the van is a long term investment. i want ti to last. I also have vans for work and see what mess they get into. VW's front end are notorious for stone chips ruining the bonnet and wings. So I've literally just dome those areas. Also you don't need to wax it anymore, just hot soapy water and the van come sup like new. Same for the wheels. did a little bit of research with others on here and i decided for me it was a good thing. I could also be wrong.

Is wireless charging standard in the UK on a MY22? It is a €500,- option in The NL, so I skipped it..

It was I think standard, then deleted for MY21. I had heard that it was being reinstated for MY22, but not confirmed yet.
My dealer said MY22 will get a rear seatbelt alert for the driver, so that is probably a sure way of knowing whether yours is a MY22 or not.
I'm not aware of any other MY22 changes.

So ordered 4th December 2020 and got it last Friday. Fully spec. I can’t tell you how painful it all was but as they say, the minute you drive it it just falls away.
204 S TDI 4 motion in Starlight Blue. Just love it.
It now being PPC so will show more pics when back and our first trip.
Hang in there everyone! I will miss this forum but it’s time for me to move on.

Mine will also be starlight - after seeing your pics I'm hoping I was savvy enough to spec a black awning rail.. daren't dig out the details!

As mentioned in another thread, dealer phoned to confirm a late Feb delivery so no changes there. Looking at the configurator, the '22 model doesn't have wireless charging in Spain unless you pay a grand for Discovery Media as far as I can tell.

I've always known it as Paint Protection Film (PPF) not sure what PPC is.
I'll be taking my van to Azuri to PPF (XPEL) the front end, and ceramic coat the rest (9 year guarantee GTechniq) for £1800. Ceramic makes it easier to keep clean, protecting it from the sun and bird crap etc and to a small degree minor scratches/chips. The PPF is self healing (with heat) protection from chips for the slab front end and the top of the tailgate bumper.

Yep your right. Unsure where I got PPC from and I went for that ceramic coat too.

Same in Switzerland, always an extra cost for wireless charging (Beach, Coast, Ocean, Editions...)

Although I expect nothing is for free, you just have the choice whether you pay for it.

Shame because I'd quite like it, but 435 swiss francs is crazy for a 10 swiss franc component

that was my mindset. Checking would just be unnecessary torture (once I'd confirmed the order was indeed in progress and hadn't been left on a desk somewhere!).

Yes I bit the bullet and contacted Chat yesterday. It went into build last week, but the next stage Chat can 'see' is when it's left the factory for shipping. I understand the dealer can see its progress through the factory, but not Chat. Chat suggested I get back in touch in 2-3 weeks.

I noticed that, strange, quite an exotic feature that many don't need and would rather not pay for (in the base price). Not sure if its well known that the Ocean base model gets more as standard in the UK but costs quite a bit more than outside the UK

i seem to remember the base Ocean costs around 10K euros more than the base model in Spain. But options are much more expensive here, from paint to tech.
Also, UK gets the Coast whereas we don't.

No it’s listed as coming as standard - same as at T6.1 launch. However launch models never had it a bit like the fly screens.

Both items disappeared from the spec for 2021 models & & have reappeared.

Prices in The NL are about the same without our 'special' tax (with the tax a Cali is about 12-16K more expensive). That is why we buy abroad; still need to pay some extra tax, but a lot less.
In our configurator we still have the "Mobile phone COMFORT" option (574eu)

Not sure about seats but I doubt they're standard. Comes on 16" steels, the parking heater is standard. UK gets digital dash too as std? 1000€ upgrade here.
Just from chatting on here, I know the Spanish guarantee extensions are more expensive too, so is the paint: pearl black is a grand more. Two tone is 3200 more. No ACC as standard, part of Lights and Vision I think.

So yeah, it likely evens out. Seems like VW España decided not to bring in the Coast and just start the Ocean off cheaper. The base Ocean is indeed not that much more than a Beach Camper in the scheme of things.

Crazy difference on some things. 3y guarantee extension is €1150.
18" Teresinas GBP950. Or, if you live in Spain, €3250.
