Hi I bought it as a VW ex demo and ordered the comfort mattress as part of the £1200 voucher offer that came with the used van promotion.

Nolan’s photo is the correct mattress.

It looks like they provided you with something inferior and not OEM comfort matress for the 3 seat beach !

Did you get the California supplemental booklet with your documents in the leather wallet ? There should be a California specific manual, in that manual you will see the various configurations for the multiflex board and comfort mattress, yours in not configurable, therefore it is incorrect

Note page 18 it shows all the components of the comfort mattress “3 seater bench” = six sections ( 3 parts) the following pages show the various possibilities regarding configuration. And specifically refer to each section by number 1 , 2 &3

Show the dealer this ( or your own manual) you may need to copy the photos and change the orientation

Perfectos I'm very grateful for all your help. This is diamond information and will be raised alongside everything else. I know what I am arguing is the case and wad 2 months ago when originally raised but they are totally intransigent and insist my part is correct despite me showing from the VW own parts ordering system the one I have us for a 2 seat Beach. All I can say to stone else is based on my experience to date AVOID VW VAN CENTRE BIRMINGHAM. Will keep you updated on progress. Sales manager is back in tomorrow and I've asked for their complaints procedure.

That’s all the proof you need, they have supplied the incorrect part, end of. They should correct their obvious mistake.

The fact that you raised the issue two months ago, is their problem not yours, the time they take to fix it is yours.
You now have all you need to show them they have provided a part for another vehicle and therefore you want the correct part you paid for (regardless if no money actually changed hands)
Let them know that this stupendous forum has been involved and if you need to show them the posts, they will be aware of the massive presence this forum commands and therefore would be unwise to dig their heals in and not provide a satisfactory resolution!

They basically insist this is the part they've supplied to dozens of other 3 seat Beach owners without complaint and the part (the correct one) must only be available if placed as a factory order... they've then said because it's now used they won't take it back anyway. I hate being lied to and it would be much better if they'd confessed to their error.

Agreed and I must admit I find this forum and our community of owners to be superb. By far the most helpful owners forum I've ever had experience of.

The fact it is used is because you had no other option !
The fact they have supplied you the incorrect mattress, is their issue.
They must provide the correct mattress for your vehicle, you have consumer rights, use them

This is what I said originally but they weren't budging. Sad I've got to have done the leg work I've done to get to nowhere to date. Only options I can see are official complaint, take it to senior management within Swansway group and ultimately small claims.
