Anti-theft worries

I can't see that a Cali is going to be that easy to steal unless the thief has access to the keys
If it was the case our insurance premiums would be unaffordable

I agree any deterant adds to peace of mind

That's the naive answer.
If the technique is available, what's to stop it falling into the wrong hands?
Hence, one needs physical deterrents, plus cover VIN up as a reasonable minimum.

Paranoia rules.:headbang :headbang :headbang :headbang

if the theft risk was anything above acceptable the Insurance Industry, across the board, would insist on upgraded alarms and trackers. They have not.

Just carry out the normal precautions. Don't leave valuables in view. Lock the vehicle & check. Know where your keys are.

Finally, ENJOY.:thumb :thumb :thumb :thumb

Of course. I'll do the same.
It's a low risk game of Russian Roulette with the thief and insurance company looking after the gun and trigger. If you can take out most of the bullets, then they can mess up and you don't suffer. That reduces stress, increases enjoyment, and we are all happy. Better to cross a few bridges than stick your head in the sand.

I don't think Diesels have distributors, do they?

Mmmm.... it's a 50k not 500k vehicle! I pass dozens of motors everyday that are move valuable.
I might think differently if I lived in Liverpool though ;)
