I agree, Freeley; it's frustrating when people use your pitch as a short cut when there is absolutely no need to do so. I also like the rules at CC sites, knowing, for example, that dogs have to be kept on leads when on site unless in a designated dog walking area (and most CC sites do have one now), enables me to relax knowing that my own dogs are not going to be harassed by others who want to come and play (one of my girls is nervous of other dogs if they rush up to her, so loose dogs running around would really spoil her enjoyment and mine; on a couple of small non-club sites we have stayed on, the site owner's dogs were allowed free run of the site).
As others have said, I think it must depend very much on the wardens on site, as well as other people staying there at the time; it's never nice to have a negative experience on holiday though, whatever the reason.
