Cooker top

Hi all
Sorry if this is an obvious question but could you tell me if the cooker top on the T7 is heat resistant ie if I boil a kettle, is it safe to close the lid onto the hot gas ring and place the hot kettle onto the glass top?

We've had T6 / T6.1 & now T7.
Believe glass is "heat resistant" to temperature of flames whilst cooking BUT not heat resistant for putting something hot directly onto glass.
Can't see anything in manual so wouldn't personally risk it.
