Hello, I'm heading to France in my T5 Cali next week and have just read that I need a Crit' Air vignette to go in to many French cities. Does anyone know if its possible to buy these stickers once you're in France (rather than buying them online which takes many weeks to arrive)? Thanks!

Apply on line and you will get a confirmation email that you can use until sticker arrives.

Mine arrived within days, but as others have said use confirmation email.

great, thanks for the advice!

I had an Email today from Brittany Ferries which included an item about the French Crit'Air stickers.

Brittany Ferries says,

'On January 1, 2025, Caen and Le Havre implemented low-emission zones, making the ‘Crit'Air’ sticker mandatory for all vehicles transiting the cities.'

This means that even if you are not planning to travel through or stay anywhere in an area that requires a Cit'Air sticker in France, you will need one to leave or return to the ferry ports at Caen and Le Havre.

So are the ferry ports, Caen in particular, definitely within the zone ? Thanks in advance

Not sure that the Port (Ouistreham) is as not actually in Caen.

Travelling there tomorrow (16th Feb.) and will update as to whether the Caen Circular road is included or just Caen Centre, which seems more likely.

Seems safe to assume ALL main Towns/Cities will gradually be included.

From this info gleaned on Motorhome site it seems the Caen Ring road is OK. If not it would be virtually impossible to get into France using that ferry.

Le Mans historic cars would in effect be banned coming from UK by that route.
I couldn't get a sticker of any description for my 1965 car, unlike UK where Historic cars are exempt.

Le Havre is also now a restricted Zone.

The Ferry Port itself isn't no.... Caen - ZFE
Google Maps is also showing a red dotted line around the zone.
That said, depending on your route in/out of the port you're going to need it.
Come in across the D514 you're fine, but if you're coming up from lower West or South you will.

Maybe install this app?
This has more information from around Europe. Just one remark: DON'T BUY STICKERS THROUGH THE APP!!
Always buy the stickers through the official website of the country.

Thankyou! There’s loads of classics and older that go to Le Mans Classic via Caen.
Many thanks in advance for any updates

I'm just looking at getting one of these but I have got stuck where it asks for the CO2 Emissions.
My V5 (Section V7 0f Vehicle details) is blank....
The Gov Website Emissions checker doesn't even list VW??
Does anyone have anything on their V5?

Tx in advance

FOUND IT
On searching here it seems there's quite a few V5s with no CO2 listed.
Had the original brochure on file showing 211g so all sorted.

I had to send them a copy of my German registration to prove all the numbers. Do you need to do that too? Now I am already waiting 3 weeks for the sticker.

Yes. You have to send a scan/photo of vehicle registration document.

You can track the progress of the physical sticker on the official site.

We got one for the van around 3 years who, and delivered within 2 weeks. Paid for one for the car 18 months ago, email received but sticker never came! I sent a couple of emails but requests were ignored.

Worth mentioning that the site requires the scan/photo to be uploaded in a certain format, otherwise it won’t continue with the application.

Formats accepted are: .jpg,.png,.pdf less than 5 MB in size. I used an online free jpeg converter to go from my phone’s standard jpeg format to .jpg format.

Hello
Not sure if this is the best thread to post this on...
I've just bought a 2012 registered California SE, and received the V5 today.
Tried to apply for a Crit Air sticker but the V5 does not have a Vehicle Category (section J) specified.
DVLA have advised that when the vehicle was first registered the Vehicle Category section wasn't required or provided.
DVLA said I need to arrange an IVA test (Individual Vehicle Assessment) to verify it's a campervan to assign an M1 or M2 category. Cost of IVA test is around £200 and a 200 mile round trip to either Bristol or Exeter!
Just wondered if anyone has come across this issue and if so, an easier solution?
Many thanks
Nick

On my Windows 11 desktop if I have a photo saved/imported there in almost any format (jpeg, HEIC etc.), when I double click it it opens in 'Photos' which I assume is Microsoft bundled software, and then by selecting the three dots on the top line I can 'save as' a jpg or almost any other format.

Yes that confused me for a while! I did exactly the same as you.

Sorry in advance - a bit off topic, but on a right hand drive where are people sticking the crit’ air sticker? And, can you just stick it on and take it off as required?
