Humby's Cali (Kurkuma Yellow!)

Looking smart Humby, sorry to ask but do you miss your old bus?

Karlos, honestly, not a single moment...
Thought that might be the case, they look great but can be a pain to live with.

When we bought our 2019 Ocean people used to ask me as a classic car man why didn't I buy a classic bus instead of a new Cali.

Simple I don't want the hassle and I wanted to be able to tour Europe easily.

Same here .
I think this is a part of getting older...

Hi Humby,
I can’t seem to find a way to message you directly. We’ve bought a T6.1 coast last spring and are discovering Antwerpen and its surroundings, but I sure would love to hear from you directly. It seems you are a true connaisseur of the Belgian camperlife

Hello JGov,
"Connaisseur of the Belgian camperlife" is a very big word :)
In fact, we do not camp a lot in our Antwerp region...
You can always send me a private message (I think...) if you have some questions!
Take care!

Some updates here, it has been a while...

We still like the Cali very much and use it as often as we can.
Here an impression from our summer trip in August. We started in Portugal and did a roadtrip trough Spain.
This was our 3 week trip:
trip aug 2021.JPG
We always stayed on campsites for about 1-2 or sometimes 3 nights.

Started in Guarda (PT), small village with nice views and very, very cheap. Wine, beers and softdrinks at 1€ or sometimes less, we went out to eat and I had to pay 20€ for my whole family! I was a bit embarresed. We stayed at the local village campsite: Parque de Campismo da Guarda. Again very, very cheap, calm, nice clean showers, toilets.

Next stop Ericeira!
Surf town with some nice skatepark that the kids loved!
We stayed at the Ericeira camping. A lot more expensive, but your near the seaside.

Then Silveira, Santa Cruz, very nice place

Then Obidos, Praia da Foz do Arelho:

Where we also ate some delicious octopus, squids, etc

We went a bit more up north, to Serra do Buro. Make sure you visit this, it is astonishing!

From some friends we heard of Camping Pelinos in Olalhas. This was a also a very nice campsite, owned by a Dutch couple. If you are nearby, you should surely stay there! The kids loved it also. Nice cosy, Tiki style vibes, clean sanitary and cool pool.

Of to Costa Nova!
As nice as camping Pelinos was, the more awfull the camp site over there were... Very crowdy, full of dirt, rude and drunk people.. We stayed 1 night. Not worth visiting!

We passed Viano de Castello, nice village with a oldschool build-in pool in the sea.

IMG_8007.jpeg
And we stayed on the campsite Orbitur Viano de Castelo.
Nice Surf vibes and a very nice beach to surf, kite, ...

Time to go to Spain!!

We arrived at a very nice campsite, runned by a family in O Grove. Camping Muineira, excellent!
They have also some spots right at the seaside, but we never book and they were already taken...
The nearby beach is very nice!
