Humby's Cali (Kurkuma Yellow!)

Small modification this evening.
From this, stock bulb DRL7E88D39A-15D8-46C1-B374-7783015E9FB2.jpeg
To this, LED bulb

Also changed the parkinglight bulbs to LED

And I changed the H7 to the Osram H7 Night Breaker Laser.
I must say, this is a massive upgrade in light output for my double H7 headlights!
And NO “bulb out” message on the dash.
I used this set from deutscheparts on eBay.

very happy with it, although it is a pain in the *ss to change those DRL bulbs!o_O
Anyway, the result is very nice!
Now we’re waiting to go on our first big trip!

You’ve obviously got a good ‘eye’ for this Humby, looks really good. Well done!

Two lovely looking vehicles. Great that the kids were able to sleep in it in the garage.
Hopefully not long now before you can camp. In the meantime what other mods are you planning?

I’ve said it before Humby.....but you’re van really is a looker. It’s making me think I just might have to do something about this.....I’ll stop looking at your posts and see if I get withdrawal symptoms first!

That’s called camping, make the most of the additional time the kids have with you!
A cover for the pop top helps black it out and helps the kids stay In bed longer, also insulates the pop top

Can you confirm the details of the bulbs you used for the DRL replacement please. Also, was anything else needed to avoid dashboard warnings about a bulb out?

Great vans and loving the mods...

Hi Stoneybroke, I ordered and installed This kit, exact the same.
Worls perfect for now, 1000km after installation, no bulb out messages!

I found a nice bike rack for the Cali! A Thule 929.
Just need to buy the adapter for the 4th bike. Very nice quality and the hatch can be opened with the bikes on the rack!

Nice. Do remember however that when you attach the 4th rack, it may not drop down as much ... but should still be able to open the rear door - just. Also even before the 4th rack hits the bottom, it is usually the last cycles' pedal that will hit the floor first and that can also constrain opening the rear door.

In august we decided to go on a holiday for 3 weeks. With the COVID situation we did not have a lot of options. So a trip to France was planned, trough all the "green" places.

First I bought some extra goodies for our trip. Some Fuel Lagoon screen wrap. The deluxe version. Very nice quality and not that expensive. FBBD0AAE-0DE5-478B-A7BD-8F03960636AA.jpeg
and I bought also some Ukatex seat covers. This was a must!
So before: E852E9B0-FA12-48D3-80D5-A8D244BC660A.jpeg
And after:

easy to install, it takes some time and the quality is very good!
unfortunately do not have pictures of the front seats...
So ready for out trip!

we did this trip:

first Bretagne, then Royan, then the Camargue and then the final week at the Côte d'Azur. It was amazing!
The Cali is something very different compared to the T2 Westfalia!
140km/h cruising speed, nice airco, quiet, good sound for our favorit tunes, perfect matress and 8,5l/100 consumption! Some random pics:

We had a blast!

Looks like you had a great time, I am jealous.

Could you post a picture of the front seats with the covers fitted please when convenient, I have been considering ukatek covers - these look at first glance very good for the price. Any regrets or are they worth going for?

Thank you

Sorry for the delay.

We had a blast!

Nice pics and nice route plan. Absolutely agree - the smooth and quite ride, with one's favourite music makes the ride very easy.

Enjoy!

Love this colour. Saw a T6 edition (not a Cali) in it last week, hadn’t seen before. Real shame it‘s not available here, would be top of the list.
