It’s been a while. Advice needed on bad back!

A couple of things I have learned both personally and professionally about back problems.
1. If you have a scan you will always find a 'problem' with the back, but whether or not that is the cause of the pain is often very uncertain. As a consequence rather too much surgery gets carried out. 2. Most back pain does resolve itself but it takes a lot longer than most people think / have patience for.
So stay with the plan and I am sure you will be fine and don't get too immersed in the medical mechanics. Truth is that beyond a certain age we will all have damaged/swollen/degraded discs, facet joints or whatever. With care, careful exercise and consideration they need not impede most activities. Good luck!

Hello! Sorry it has taken me so long to reply! It’s been quite the journey!

I am a year and four months post-injury. Back to business as usual. But ongoing chronic pain. Annoying mostly. Not limiting. I am driving again. Back in the gym. Flew on a plane in March to Tenerife. Surviving. Thriving.

With a bit of luck, I’ll be fully recovered this time next June! It’s a long road.

Planning our first camping trip since September 2023 now and I am beyond excited and emotional.
