It's arrived!

Wow. Looks amazing. I would be keen to hear about your after sales care from there. As they were absolutely useless with us last year.

Says 5 years total which is what I expected. Haven't seen anything about an extra year for the cali. Where did you see that?

I believe that currently VW are offering a 4 year care pack on the T6.1.
Not sure but i thought it was 4 year warranty, servicing and a MOT?

Enjoy your new van it’s absolutely stunning sod all that roof corrosion crap it’s a long established problem that vw should be on top of now and if there not who cares it’s under warranty;)
Enjoy ur new adventures ur new 6.1 and you don’t need the stupid yearly habitation check at about £300 that motorhomes have....
Everything has it’s negatives!!!!!
Enjoy!!!!!!!

Manual shows wireless app connect for iPhone but not for android so needs USB connection. Not sure if that's an android or vw issue. Either way a software update may resolve in the future. Center console USB ports are also usb-c type.
It depends on the tech installed. CarPlay and Android Auto use different methodologies to connect wirelessly.

It could be fixed by software. BMW announced Airplay support only for their latest cars, then added Android Auto via a software update later. That doesn’t mean VW will do the same of course, but maybe.

congratulations on your new Cali and I’m just ever so slightly envious of your new motor!! :):):)

Congratulations, looks fantastic. Enjoy.

Had a minor panic when I looked out this morning and saw that the near side front part of the roof looked disengaged about an inch.Popped up the roof. some water droplets inside so the roof hadn’t sealed at the front nearside when I’d put it down last night and hadn’t spotted it. Offside was ok. canvas all looked fine. lowered again but this time drawing more of the slack canvas down through shutter area and it sealed fine all around. Bloody tight squeeze getting the shutter closed. Guess its all a bit tight as it’s new. Learning curve..

I’ve noticed this too, exact same thing on my new T6, with the fully opening front canvas, you have to be extra careful tucking the front section in, otherwise the roof will not close evenly/properly, mine stuck up about an inch on the front near side like yours. I have an iso-top too and with the new canvas closing the shutter is very tight. Never had this issue on my T5.1

I had exactly the same problem as yourselves, I have had my 150 ocean for 4 weeks and found ice in the corner when I opened the roof for the first time. Dried it out with the better half’s expensive hair drier which she didn’t find amusing.Found a niggle with one of the lights coming on when I braked but it’s back to the dealers tomorrow morning to have the light issue sorted and the roof leaking hasn’t happened since. It’s all under warranty so no drama just big grins when I’m behind the wheel or sat by the beach having a cup of tea and cake with the better half and little one

I was looking at a T6.1 in a dealers in the UK and they had a euro socket behind the passenger seat on the kitchen unit. Just checking on yours if it is a UK socket? Thanks

Yes UK Socket
We were at the Norwich Showroom looking at a demo Ocean and Coast (to make our choice) noticed on the Coast, side of the sink was a UK socket, on the Ocean it was Euro socket, mentioned this to the sales rep and he said you will need an adapter no UK socket supplied on the Ocean?

As far as i know all uk supplied Ocean/SE have a UK 3 pin socket outlet on the side of the sink and a 2 pin inverter outlet on the b pillar behind the passenger seat.

:)
Let me know if you want me to check anything else. Any excuse for me to go out and get in it :thumb smells so good.
I think there is also a socket behind the driver seat on the base but I lost that by getting the rechargeable torch that goes there. Which also becomes a handy floor light. While digging through the bags of extras I also found a tiny rechargeable torch that goes in the cigarette lighter socket. Nice touch!

The Ocean T6.1 model we test drove had a euro 2 pin at the side of the sink and 2x USB sockets plus 2x light switches, one for the lighting along the edge of sink unit and the the other for the lighting inside the unit. The Coast T6.1 we viewed had a UK socket but no light switches or usb (from memory)!

Just noticed your photo that is brilliant, will send this to the Norwich dealer, strange they had a euro socket! We are getting very excited about ordering our first California, just deciding on the colour, think it is going to be the 2-tone white and green

Probably the wrong thread/question here, but did you go for the 'Pro' upgrade on the media system, couldn't see what the difference was apart from the larger screen (which will finger mark easily) we are thinking to stay with the standard system, liked having the sat nav on view on the driver's cockpit display, wouldn't need it on both displays (Pro upgrade)

We didn't go for the Pro. I couldn't find enough info about the differences between them (apart from bigger screen). So far I've been unable to get the map part into the drivers display but there are so many options and buttons that I haven't given it a fair trial. My understanding was that the non pro could have it on one or the other but not both as that was a pro feature but I'm not sure. I'll probably use android auto anyway and that doesn't go on to the drivers screen. I'll have another go with the map view later. So far I'm just getting a compass there.

I checked out a coast 6.1 at my local dealers, I was wondering what the slot below the light switches it for? Tea towel hooks??
