New T6.1 order delays

I got those too and share your pain. What do you use in the wardrobe now? I think @itguy recommended these in a recent video

These are/look indeed easier (as strange as it may sound, but the largest cupboard fits best flatter and smaller bags and that is how we do it).
We ‘ve got a courtesy cali from the dealer this summer and test some of our purchased stuff; the bag set was the only thing that is not suitable. Our new cali coast isn’t delivered yet.. but I’ll purchase those they have shown or similar.
I'm also a fan of @itguy: in a weird way they are both funny and informative.
Greetings

His video on the baffling heater is the best I’ve seen. Now I get it, even if I don’t understand when I’d use the ventilate immediately function…

That's unfortunate news. I wonder if they're now churning out more base vehicles than they have capacity to finish them as a camper. If it makes you feel any better (which I doubt) mine isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It's sitting on the drive covered in 10 cm of snow and it's predicted that it will continue for another 10-15 cms.
Why have I never read anything in the forums about how awkward it is get snow off the roof o_O

Nice pre-Christmas scenery though ;-)

I used packing cubes like this (that I already had) when I hired a camper in October. Worked well. I’ve read elsewhere that if each family member gets their own colour then it makes it nice and easy to retrieve what you’re looking for. Makes sense!

Has anyone had the £500 accessory offer/apology letter recently? How long before the build did you receive it? Yesterday we were given a confirmed build week 2, so getting close now {ordered mid April}, but no £500 letter yet.

Also, where do you get your commission number from for logging in MyVolkswagen?

Thanks,
I think we are a few weeks ahead of you, but no offer of £500 of goodies. I may mention it to the dealer next week when I call for an update, though as it’s not appeared to date, I’m not expecting a result.

Your dealer should be able to confirm your order number (commission number). But the MyVolkswagen app is of no use in the UK when it comes to commercial vehicles, which is where Cali’s sit. Nor is the VW Chat. Other members of the forum who are not based in the UK appear to be able to use this functionality. Your dealer should be able to access the factory system though.

The chances of having our van by Xmas now look slim. What is it doing at Emden all this time?!!!!? About to reach 1yr order anniversary. Tell me it’s all worth it!

Well the day finally finally arrived yesterday ! Since january the 21st i have watched every cali video known to man, even in korean (you will know what i mean im sure) and my pride and joy finally arrived, just fitted the bike rack and am so chuffed i cant tell you ! 4 motion is simply amazing , i had a T5 and i loved it but very front wheel spinny setting off from junctions, this is a totally different beast and a joy to drive , overall im just overjoyed and for everyone who is going through the same wait hang in there as when the day actually comes it makes it 5 times more special i promise!

It's all worth it (if you've got time to use it...)

Yeah that video is way clearer than Cali Chris'.
Re vent immediately - I maybe can imagine a scenario returning to the van after a long walk or run in the rain (add a wet dog too if you like), get changed in the back and everything is steamed up. Would it work for that?
My 'velle has the rear heater/blower which is ok (if feeble) but does need the ignition key on for it to work.

Yes I think it would work for that. Or perhaps when you are camping in the heat, you could use ventilate immediately to bring ambient air (cooler than the day's accumulated heat) inside in the evening. Shame the a/c can't work on hookup...

I'm about a month behind you for van leaving the factory: dealer's estimate of van getting to me by 4-6 weeks later may be optimistic considering how long yours has already been at Emden. Watching your posts with great interest.

If mine doesn't arrive until February, would it be worth asking dealer to hold off registering it until 1 March, just to get the 22 registration. Do posters think the reg affects resale values much (not that I intend to let it go any tme soon)?

I think the model year is more relevant, but if it’s a few days til the new reg, and it’s of no consequence to you, might as well get the new plate

I know other vans have come and gone through Emden whilst mine has got itself comfy!! So yours won’t necessarily take as long as mine. I’ve actually been wondering if mine will be a March reg!!!

Yes, if it’s a matter of a week or so, I’d delay it. It’s a daft system, but from experience it does have an impact on car future values.

Me neither. I can only guess it's for if you park up after a drive you can 'heat immediately' with the front vents as the engine is still warm.

ive started to realise this is actually a really good function. my van is 50 metres away from my house, and in a morning before sunrise i go to my back room and press the remote , and the heater starts set to 30 mins max , and then i make my flask and do the stuff i do every morning, leave the house and get in a perfectly toasty van, which i tend to have maybe 10 mins left on the timer but i leave on giving the van engine time to warm up its own heater ........ that for me is just a perfect reason to have this little function :)

No, ventilate will only bring in ambient air.
The "rest" function on the climatronic will give you warm air through the vents if the engine is still warm though.

How does that work Andy? Pull up with a hot van, turn the engine off and press the Rest button, and it pulls through engine heat for how long?
("Read the f'ing manual" I hear you say....sorry but this forum is likely to give a useful answer)

It runs for 20mins per push of the button, great for when the Mrs has gone shopping & I am just waiting in the van, no fuel used , no engine running. Also good for lunch stops etc.

We had a delivery status update today from Liverpool Van Centre today. Our 150DSG Ocean ordered on 1st March 2021 has been built now and is awaiting transfer to Emden by the end of the week. With luck we should be able to collect in early January. This is just as was forecast around 3 weeks ago, which is great news, and we can relax after holding our breath on “parts delays”.

Here are some shots of my ocean which finally arrived after 1 year of waiting, just posting these to say it does actually happen one day, i love this thing soooooooo much !! I know i craved piccies while i was waiting so please i hope you enjoy !
