When we placed our order, the sales guy was very clear the delivery time was way out - at least 12 months. Having said that we haven't got the car yet (May/June 22) so who knows if he was right or not..! But he certainly wasn't sugar coating the delivery issues.Hi Bob,
Well in my opinion they promise these (too) short and attractive lead-times to get people to sign a contract. Salesmen typically do anything to get sales, because their salary/bonus depends on it...
What happens after the signing, they don't really care about. They will most probably blame it on some kind of delay, shortage or whatever...![]()
When I was in sales (IT, not cars) you only got commission when the item was delivered and invoiced, so no real benefit to the sales guy to state earlier than likely delivery times. In fact, most customers will accept a realistic/long delivery time much better than an artificially shortened delivery date with subsequent disappointment when delivery slips.
