Road Trip - France, Spain, Portugal

Day 53
Bourges & Le Tréport
We’ve booked our tunnel crossing home for Sunday
This morning the dogs went t’ veterinary for their wormy tablet and Animal Health Certificate signed, ready for return to uk.
The young vets were so lovely and kind, and spoke good English. Dogs were good but Vinnie wee’d on the vets floor. Naughty boy.
(Clinique Veterinaire Du Lac, Bourges, which I highly recommend) cost €50 for both dogs including tablets.
We then hit the road and did a 6hr drive up to the Normandy coast, where we’ll spend our last few days having a trot about on the beaches.
All a bit sad to be heading home, but we’ve had a good run.

check out Le Touquet if you get time. Also known as Paris Plage. Beach the Parisians frequent.

You can stay in the EU for 90 days. Not 60! It is only day 53!

You may have already done a DDay tour of the Normandy beaches. But if not done, then worth it! Stunning and sobering.

That's like two excited kids in a candyshop. I think they have seen the jar of treats on the table there.

@willwander - great reading about your trip.Your write up helped me lock in our jaunt to Bilbao and the area.

@Azteccamper - thanks for the vicarious tips. The drive to Potes from Logroño was incredible. As was the way onward to San Vincente. Had lunch there this afternoon and now staying in Comillas.

Both unexpected gems I never would have found if it weren’t for this forum.

Day 54
Cayeux-sur-Mer
Sleepy seaside town with a huge pebble beach, dogs enjoyed playing in the sea. Quite a few people about enjoying a day of warm autumn sun. It’s been a good day.

Day 55
Le Touquet
Trip to local swimming baths for a shower. Public holiday in France today. Lovely big beach here, lots of people walking on the beach, enjoying a bank holiday stroll on a very grey day. Vinnie ate something on the beach and had a poorly tummy.

Day 56
Calais
Bit of shopping at Cité Europe centre, which was packed, followed by trot along Calais Beach, freezing. Now sat in camping-carpark Calais, which is also packed, waiting for our shuttle tomorrow morning. Reflecting on our trip. It’s been ace, we’re sad to be going home.

We are sad too that the journey is over, but, I am sure .. lots of memories!

The Cali will need a good wash at the end of the trip!
