My beach appears to be stuck in the factory. Week 34 build and still not in transit. Must be waiting on some widgets as I thought it would be on the boat by now.

Sorry to hear that Mr Q . Thats exactly what happened with my week 32 build. Its finally arrived at sheerness docks , now awaiting delivery to dealer and pdi and then my upgrades to be fitted! More delays but at least its on British Soil . Just the last hurdle to get over ! Hopefully yours will be on its way any day now. Good Luck.

Finally had news yesterday that my Cali Ocean is at dealers and transformations are in progress !
Decided not to go and look until all the changes have been made , have been sent pictures to prove its here though!
Wow thats the longest 8 ½ months I've ever known .....now only a couple more days until i collect with lowered suspension, Toluca alloys, bike rack and a few other items !
Bank Balance needs to get ready for a BIG Hole in it !!!!

After 7 months of refreshing my emails 20 times a day - we finally have a confirmed build week 41

All being well delivery will be mid-November so a full 9months in total from placing our order in February and it's been so much worse than waiting for a baby (but I suppose thats easy for me to say.....)

Now the fun bit starts!

Quick work indeed ........arrived + cvscanterbury.co.uk 4pm Friday and was on ramp by 4.30pm being stripped ready for changes .( They understood how annoyed i had been after waiting 8 ½ months for VW europe to deliver the California after 2 false promises!)
To be honest CVS have been fantastic as usual . Highly recommend for all your VW servicing and parts if you are in Kent.They looked after my T5 California Berghaus before it was sold (including sorting out roof corrosion problems as they are an Approved VW commercial service dealer and they will be looking after the T6 as well ! Worth checking them out if anyone is in Kent.
(Transformation pictures to follow next week.)

I really hope things improve for everyone else now and deliveries start to speed up .

After three months driving on standard springs and reading the helpful feedback from others on here I've concluded that the uprated ones are the way to go for us. Also got a number of favourite dog walking car parks with height barriers that are currently a bit too close for comfort! Would be very interested to see your pics once the work's done. We also have gone for 18" rims (a TUV-approved VW spec but sourced separately). Just out of interest is the dealer going to do a laser alignment report for you after the work's finished?

Tomorrow we say goodbye to ChArLIe and collect our new T6.
Together we have travelled about 30,000 miles, sleeping in the Cali for over 175 nights and visited France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy (x3) Sardinia, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, England, Wales and Scotland.
What a wonderful vehicle the California is.
Looking forward to lots more adventures in the new one.

Definitely get the alignment laser check done .
On a previous vehicle that I had lowered , this was not done and cost me a set of tyres within 3000 miles !
Now I always have the dealer take vehicle to a specialist who carries out the alignment check .

But I have never been finicky about colours....

Grape yellow? Now that is intriguing! Can you post an example? I have seen egg yolk yellow but never grape yellow...

Really like the colour of grapes? Think it will be stunning.

Who would not smile at a family driving around in grape yellow Cali?

Ours is called "Chilli Red." Brash colour. Would have preferred what Germans call klassikrot, or classic red. Nothing red about it too - more dark claret.

Begs the question of colour descriptions. Here are some from VW, and some I made up:

4. Chilli Red.
5. Strawberry Red.
6. Blood Red.
7. Grape yellow.
8. Underpants white (starched)

Professionally lowered , Chrome side bars , chrome tailgate strip , chrome front highlight strip and 18'' Toluca alloys all supplied and fitted by CVS Canterbury today.

I have endured much pain waiting for this replacement vehicle for my T5.1 Berghaus which was sold in february after initially being advised delivery in 3 months . I have missed all the season and have had to take alternative holidays this year ..............was it worth the wait ?
YES IT WAS !
I am extremely pleased with the final look of the T6 . I debated long and hard about the colour back in January and really didn't know which way to go with the additions , black wheels ?chrome wheels? black bars? chrome bars ?lowering springs or air suspension? question after question ,wait after wait , incorrect info after more incorrect info ! But you know what .......it is all worth it and i think its turned out exactly as i hoped.
Many Thanks to Matt Reader @CVS Canterbury for all his expert knowledge and advice and extra bits of "bling " added today without me asking! He kept me sane throughout this whole process and probably stopped me cancelling the order back in June when i had given up hope!

To everyone else waiting . Stick with it . Yes its a painfully long and slow process but it is definitely worth it in the end !
