T7 California Hybrid to be presented in June 2021?

I watched most of it live. I love the t7. The worry is the price... at 60k eur starting price for just the caravelle... how much is the califonia t7 going to be?

The modular seats looks like a big design improvement.

Maybe the 7 seat beach will make a return?

“While the T7 Multivan offers improved passenger carrying ability, it's not currently slated to form the basis for a new range of California campers - these will continue to be based on the T6.1 Transporter van.

Interesting phrase "not currently".

They've given themselves some options for the future I guess.

I hope they do. I don't want a 6.1.

Half hour long and they barely showed you round the whole outside of the Van!

When I’m filling up at the Petrol station, i hope the kids don't open the sliding door!

I understand this statement like : the calif will carry on as t6.1 for the time being

If the t7 was not the successor of the t6.1, they would not have called it t7 but something else. They cannot refresh the whole product line in one go... like many manufacturers. I am sure there will be a t7 california. Sure, not this year.... but I will wait.

As shared somewhere on here previously, Ford & VW entered into an agreement to share development of commercial vehicles. Amongst others Amarok based on the ranger, Ford city van based on Caddy and ford to develop a 1-ton cargo van (no date specified). Wouldn’t be surprised if this last becomes the new california instead of T7.
Time will tell.

Evolution says it will happen. I’ll take MY25 in a forum sweepstake for when the T7 MQB California is available for delivery!

:)

The video I just put on shows inside

Just watched it.
Thomas delivers a quality review of the vehicle as always. The rail system, looks interesting. But as stated, this isn’t the platform the California will be on…

Hybrid will have 1.4 tsi petrol engine. As it is based on the MBQ chassis not strong enough for camper. Until they design a new load carrier van the T6.1 and its upgrades will reign according to my info.

I certainly won’t be buying a California built by Ford and based on a Transit. Shocking idea.
With the following that Transporters get, I’m absolutely amazed that VW & Ford decided that getting Ford to develop the next model was a good idea.

Most customers will be clueless to this fact... until the panels start popping off and someone breaks the news to them. Or the AC stops blowing, or the alarm starts going off randomly, or the alternator goes on the fritz. Yes, I had a Ford, yes I had all those problems, no I'm not buying another Ford, even if they polish the turd and put a VW badge up front

Did anyone notice that to get the same interior length as the T6 California you would the long version of the T7, which would be 20cm longer. It doesn’t sound much but for parking in London it would make a big difference for us.

I like it a lot. The interior looks very smart.

The front looks good. Let's be honest, anything is an improvement on the hash they made of the T6.1. Maybe it was intentional? So awful that the next leap isn't as much of a shocker.

It'll be interesting to see how it evolves to California.
Can you let me know what’s wrong with the T6.1? … Just in case I’m tempted to upgrade from our T6!

browsing through this forum, i think you can easily draw up a similar list on everything that is wrong/doesn't work as we would/isn't built to last on all of the different versions of the California.

It's an age old thing. People with a T4 thought the T5 looked crap, people with a T5 thought the T5.1 looked crap, people with a T5.1 thought, well you can guess the rest.
