Hello, I have a 2022 build/2023 reg T6.1 Ocean. It supports wifi (through the multimedia menu) but doesn’t have the wifi button on the dashboard. Does anyone know any way to be able to connect it to the California app? Some of the remote control features look a bit gimmicky, but on occasion, others like light control may be useful. Surely it’s possible, or if not, surely it’s something my dealer can very easily enable by ticking a box in the ECU system via OBD (my terminology may not be 100% correct there, but you get the drift)?

Don’t know if this will help.

From the VW site

“2. setup for the California Remote Control needs to be installed in the vehicle configuration. Your vehicle has the function if the connection button/Wi-Fi switch is installed in your vehicle on the right below the steering wheel.”

(Left in a RH drive vehicle)

Possibly VW could advise if the setup and button would be a dealer retrofit?

Not possible. The best you will get, if available in NZ, is the Volkswagen app to lock and unlock doors.
