Its worth a try, but I wouldn't be too confident of help here in Ireland, I may need to call VW UK
I could try my local VW dealer, would they be able to give me this kind of information from the VIN Number?

Perhaps, when I phoned they asked for a number that I found stuck to the pillar inside the drivers door, but I am sure they will tell you what they need.
