I’ve read that these can be registered as a Motor caravan, but also sometimes an MPV. Does anyone have current experience in which group they fall into?
I’ve since read the the rules have been tightened, and so it also has to look like a motor caravan from the outside, and so all the versions are classified as an MPV.The DVLA rules for a motorcaravan include "a place to cook food permanently installed".
Hence my T6 beach is a car. An Ocean is a motorcaravan.
I’m afraid you are incorrect. Those DVLA rules apply to 3 rd party conversions.I’ve since read the the rules have been tightened, and so it also has to look like a motor caravan from the outside, and so all the versions are classified as an MPV.
Absolutely correct answer.I’m afraid you are incorrect. Those DVLA rules apply to 3 rd party conversions.
Apart from the California Beach Tour all Californias are M1 Diesel Car or PLG and Body Type Motor Caravan.
A few years ago some registered as Body Type MPV and also some were charged the Luxury Vehicle tax but that has ceased now.
The T7 California Beach and ? Ocean are M1 Body Type Motor Caravan and not subject to the Luxury Car Tax.
Vehicles built to the DVLA specifications at first registration will have a M1 or N1 class and Body Type Motor Caravan but vehicles which are already registered and then converted will only change their Body Type to Van with Windows.
There are many threads and posts on the T6 Forum regarding this.
