VW California Special Edition ( California Generation)

I don't think it is due to popularity more to do with cost.

It figures that people who are older are more likely to have the disposable income or finance options to buy one.

Maybe hold slightly over a standard ,but not sure in the 114 blue motion in full fat Cali will be that great ,as its not like the vw engines of old ..

Well they give you less for your money now and prices have gone up I've heard and will again in the new year ,so all good for us used Cali owners keeping our prices high ;-)

if my hand is on my heart I think the Beach needs a 140 and a Cali a 180 that's my thoughts from driving both.

The 114 BMT Beach like mine is actually quite quick once up to speed and especially now I have 25k on clock. It never feels slow on the motorway or around town.

What I do notice is that it can be hard work up hills and that appears to be down to VW using a 5 speed box with long gearing to maximise economy - it can feel a bit slow on the hills and you find yourself working it quite hard.

So that engine would in a full Cali would scare me and I believe they do a 102bhp in Germany? Having driven a full Cali - it would be 180 for me every time.
