What have you bought for your Cali today :-)

They do look good. Would be interested to know how they withstand scuffs etc over time.
They are quite prone to scratches, but I just see them as a durable sacrificial layer. Which look loads better than the protective films etc.

They look nice, but also interested in how dark it makes the interior (when opened).
I don’t find they make the interior any darker. I would probably say lighter, as they bounce light back into the cabin.

Yes, me too! What is the antenna, I just have the wire one that came with it?

I think they must have upgraded the model…mine is about 1.5 years old and only comes with wire antenna….great radio …as long as the signal is strong enough as only DAB....perhaps why the upgrade for alternative ?

Yeah I have this too - the fixed antenna is a recent addition

Yes, mine is about the same age. I did have a magnetic antenna that I could put outside but never really needed it. Great radio!

I just purchased a portable induction hob for the van. I’ve read lots of bad reviews on Amazon for hobs that are very noisy, bulky or break within a few months. The one I bought is very thin (23mm) and the fans are really quiet and unobtrusive. No louder than a laptop fan. Time will tell how long it lasts, but I also took out the 3 year accidental cover just in case. I just need to buy a 17inch laptop sleeve to keep it in.

My use case is mainly for boiling water inside the van and my cheap Decathlon 1L stainless steel kettle works just fine. Of course I still have my Tupike for outdoor use.

So far I am very impressed! Connected to the Delta 2, it boils 500ml of water using an Ingenio pan in 3:30. With the Decathlon kettle it’s even faster at 2:50. This is all at 1200W. I’ll do some further tests at different wattages, but it equates to about 7% of the Delta 2 capacity, which means 14 cups of tea :)

The wattage varies from 100 to 1800 and there is a separate boost button for 2100W. Not much else to add right now, but I will of course do the obligatory baked beans test. :veryfunny

The cost is £110 on Amazon, but until the end of tomorrow there is a £35 off coupon.

I've long been a fan of induction cooking and using rechargeable lithium Phosphate solar generators in a van over gas. Nice to see you'e enjoying it too.

I have the Vango Sizzle, excellent bit of kit an saves on the gas. Can only use on hook up currently, likely to get an Ecoflow or similar when Black Friday comes around.

More like what didn’t we buy…

Three and a half hours in Attwools, Gloucester (including lunch!), plus a stop off in Dunelm to get most of our basics in preparation for our new van arriving any day now…

Should have got a bigger Van!

That sofa definitely won't fit!

A couple of rear trailing arms and rear bearings....on the plus side the ABS sensors came out

Maybe not one for the true coffee purists but have been after a no-faff coffee making setup in the GC for a little while. Gone for an Outin Nano machine, it’s about the size of a small flask so can fit in a door bin and takes ground coffee or Nespresso pods. Pretty cool as you can take it anywhere and the in-built battery is good for making 3-4 cups with totally cold water.

Also got an electric milk frother for a bit of extra in-van luxury now and again :)

Now that I like... but at 80ml I'd need about 3 to get close to my caffeine hit

A window cover for the sliding door since it’s a faff to raise the (difficult) blind to open the door in the night. New cover doesn’t fit though, so it’s going back.

The search continues …..

Watch out for @wildslammer22 he is the judge, jury and executioner when it comes to coffee standards.

which cover did you try?

The VanStyle ones work very well on my t6.

Branderup also have a set which is similar but more expensive.
