Just a thought, how much does charging your leisure batteries whilst driving effect the MPG

They way I understand how the smart alternator works, is that it will only charge the staring battery at first, when that is fully charged it then starts charging the leisure batteries

Obversly it effect MPG, the alternator is putting an extra load on the engine but by how much?

Part of the bluemotion functionality (is that still on the t6?) was to reduce the amount of time the alternator was in use and thus improve your fuel ecomony by using regenerative braking and engine braking to put the charge in whenever possible.

I find when my batteries are good and full, the MPG goes up and the stop start works more often too. Another good reason to do that 24h on hookup once a month imho.

Do not know if this only happens to me but my fuel consumption is significantly better when my wife drives!

I managed 18.6 Km/l on a 181 Km drive yesterday.. My wife is currently driving at 13.6 Km/l over a similar distance.
