Windscreen fitting

Cracked screen! I changed one years ago in a mini. Fairly simple, string around the seal, bit of lube and push it in as you pull the string.

Anyone done similar on the Westy?
Best place to get a new one?

Following..... I've a little bit of corrosion on the posts that will need the screen out to fix properly. Ironic that the corrosion could be due to damage from fitting a screen!

Corrosion around a screen can be trouble. I new a guy years ago had to write off a car after a screen went. Simply not enough solid metal to get the new one in. It was an Alfa so kind of understandable.

I better check my insurance, it may be included.

On vwt4forum.co.uk they reckon the rusty windscreen surrounding is caused when a knife is used to cut the rubber to remove the original screen. Apparently the knife cuts through to the metal, and hey presto rust six months later.
