What have you done with your California today?

It's had yet another day off.
On a really nice ACSI (17 euro with leccy and a pool) site called Mare Monti on the Italian Riviera. Great gravelled pitch with shade and a sea view.
Free minibus (Vito which was noisy) and train from Trigaso station to the Cinque Terre villages.
Free pick-up from the station back to the site so can recommend this site for seeing the Cinque Terre without using the Cali.
And of course we've done our bit for the planet by using a nice clean electric train rather than our nasty diesel van

Sounds fabulous, quick weekend cali break for us in the centre of York.

Gracie has been out again today entertaining the MIL. Today we went to the outlet centre at Kilver Court where she had yet another couple asking for a grand tour!! Lucky I am Gracie proud..not like the house then where I have vintage dust!

Yes I will be Wim but somewhere in Spain.
Either Barcelona, Aragon or near Malaga.
Would have loved to meet up if I was further north.

Is that the Rowntree site ?
Never managed to get on it yet, always well booked up.
Yes, managed to bag a couple of nights. You do need to check availability a lot to grab a cancellation. Great for York centre hence it's popularity.

Saumur for us in an ASCI site after a couple of nights nearby in an AIRE. Showers required and we got them both in the block and from the sky during the night. Thanks to the advice on here awning was well strapped down, half way out as a storm porch and lowered on one corner. Just as well as it bucketed it down.
Some sort of fun run in the town today so off for a look.
Heading south tomorrow general direction of Spain, probably!

Mike

Checked in again: Grainau, Germany

Lake Orta......after 36 hours of rain that would have had Noah sharpening up his chisel, it's nice to have the sun back

Today it's been in the garage for:
  1. Full service;
  2. Cam Belt and water pump change;
  3. Rear brake pads;
  4. Brake fluid change.
Tomorrow it's getting a RCD 330 retrofit.

The guys at Autowork Salisbury were amazing. Independent VW specialists and I saved ~£250 on franchise quotes.

Drove to Monte Carlo and around and around it until we found a parking spot by the harbour.
Walked round the GP circuit, got ripped off in Starbucks and escaped.
Not to my liking I'm afraid. Traffic's a nightmare, half of it's a building site and the other half like an upmarket Benidorm.
Front row starting grid.

Drove up 360 miles from Provence to home in the Pyrenees. Quick break at the autoroute aire near Carcasssonne. Rubbish weather on the way in the mountains but better this morning.

La Cite, Carcassonne.

Looks lovely Brian. How long are you there for?
I've just come back from a week in Snowdonia with rain & wind gusting to 60mph. Still great fun though. Can't imagine a better vehicle for having fun in all sorts of weather than a California.

I'm here for about five days I think Simon.
Then off to Aragon to meet my daughter for the Moto GP and then down to a village inland from Malaga for a while.
Just gardening at the mo, damn pressure washer has just burnt out so off to Lourdes to get a new one so the Cali is going into van mode to take rubbish down to the dump.
Love your Snowdonia pics. Fabulous round there. Just a pity about the weather.

Looks very nice @Dakar-Cali . I was just a few miles away staying at Minffordd.

It got too windy for the roof to be raised and had to bring the rain/sun porch in too even though it was well fixed down.

Stunning views though.
I was doing stealth camping so didn't have the roof up, loads of rain but guess I was sheltered from wind hiding in between the mountains.
