What have you done with your California today?

That look of disappointment that it blocks the drawer! Still annoys me! We keep the Fiamma Level Ups and our awning annexe in there now so don't need access as much
For what it's worth, we went round in circles on kid seats and ended up with recaros for my 2 and (nearly) 4 year old. Work a treat. Really secure, easy to get in and out, small and don't block the draw. Also they have the added benefit of being compatible with the Seat covers. I can fish out the names if that's helpful. All the best

Sorry that should read "non isofix"!

In Sweden the babies have face the other way and all the isofix bases have these legs, the one benefit is the arm swings up and these bases can be used for the next seat without the foot

Fitted a double USB in the kitchen unit and changed a fuse behind the bottle cooler. Now able to charge directly.

Drove to Monte Carlo and around and around it until we found a parking spot by the harbour.
Walked round the GP circuit, got ripped off in Starbucks and escaped.
Not to my liking I'm afraid. Traffic's a nightmare, half of it's a building site and the other half like an upmarket Benidorm.
Front row starting grid.

Everybody wants to be seen there , very busy roads many just driving in circles just to show off.
We will be close to you the next days , now less than 100km from Bordeaux .
Planning to go further down and by next week head east to Ardeche/Vaucluse.
Need a hand gardening....?

Busy day here:

Went for the full monty AutoGlym. Hope it is as effective as heard around. Looking forward testing it out.

Finally got so annoyed that I took my rear left wheel to the garage. And yes there was a small screw sitting in there. It has been with us since end May, all the way to Croatia and the Champagne Meet. It has been loosing a minimum of air, but not enough to worry about. Now its gone. Wheel off, tyre off, drilling, cleaning, vulcanizing, cleaning, the tyre on, balancing, and wheel back on. 32€ (!).

And today the sun decided to push the rain to the neighbours so our Drive Away Awning finally got itself dry from top to button. Quite some work with such a thing. We actually decided not to go for one, despite we had an idea that it would extend seasons and make things comfier. But one came up as a 50% off bargain, and I could not resist. Now we give it a go and see if convenience is greater than effort.

Hi
I would be interested to know the the make of the child seats - and from what age they can be used. Did you buy them in the UK?

I got a little paranoid about keeping the spare wheel safe so I bought a secure bolt for £19 from here: GENUINE VW TRANSPORTER T4, T5 & CALIFORNIA SPARE WHEEL LOCKING BOLT BRAND NEW and a pretty good tyre pressure gauge for here: RACE X RX0014 Tyre Pressure Gauge

Not made a video before so thought I would have a go and make a simple (and very naive) illustration of describing and placing the secure bolt onto the spare wheel holder. I then described the tyre pressure gauge. Not sure I will be making any more clips :)

The very first drive in my brand new 4Motion Ocean. 1,100 miles without much rest for the van and only two tanks of Diesel from Guildford to Stavanger, Norway.

Hi they are recaro and one is suitable from 3 years upwards (the grey) and one from 1 years upwards (the black). I think they are recaro monzas and recarco Monza sport from memory. Will be on the website as current models. I rate them very highly for the cali.
all the best

Not sure what is wrong with video -sorry about this; perhaps moderators can shed some light on what i can do to get a play?

Tomorrow morning we are off on trip No2. Going via Lancashire VW, to pick up a new 'torch' that has failed to charge, to a campsite in town / community of Dalbeattie near Dumfries. On Sunday morning going to Ayre where there is a brill Turkish barber shop, and then, after my indulgence to Loch Lomond for a couple of nights. The campsite in the town is the closest I can get to Clyde Bank where I am due to get HUET refresher course. HUET involves the poor sod getting turned upside down in a helicopter cabin several meters under water, bashing the small cabin window out and, fingers crossed, swim out through this narrow space to safety! Probably not as difficult as it sounds for the youthful but after 40 years of tumbling about there has increasingly been more stress in the lead-up time to the four yearly event :)

Going to visit my niece Tuesday south of Edinburgh. I will post some pics.

Little trip out to the New Forest for Sunday breakfast. Bacon sarnies and coffee whilst avoiding getting trampled by the passing ponies! 20170924_104148.jpg 20170924_115319.jpg 20170924_115245.jpg 20170924_105940.jpg

Mini Meet in Denmark ;-)

We gave our friends a weekend treat as a wedding gift. So we invited them to Nysted on Island Lolland (Southern Danish Islands), where we spend a lovely weekend. Zipping the Champagne we brought home from the latest meeting at Nowack, eating and drinking outstanding food in Restaurant Ö (If you ever go there, don't miss Ö) and preparing a huge brunch on the Cadac. And the weather was with us this time …

Moved the Cali a few blocks today....
We arrived in the Ardeche region sunday and planning to stay a few days on the drive of the rental house of someone we know .
Two persons we know own a house here about 1km away from eachother.
Both we may use de driveway if nobody has rented , one we have a permant key to the house so we can shower/toilet and cook inside and use the swimmingpool.
Sunday we arrived here....
