On my T5 180 I kept to long life service and this worked out at 20k / 24 months between services. No oil change warning alerts came up before service. On the T6 150 just had 1st service as "oil service due " warning alert on at just under 15k /11 month old. Speaking to dealer today they said they seem to be getting a lot of T6's giving a oil change service alert at c 15k. I was wondering what other T6 owners are getting before oil service alert shows up.
 
I've a T6 150ps Beach..... Oil service came on ~18,000 miles, 8 months old..... Van centre carried out a full service whilst it was in.... I paid for the 4x Service plan at a cost of £864..... So, one down, three to go. :(
 
Mine goes into SMG on Monday to have an alarming "Oil service indicator" checked. This will be the second time. The first time it went from 20,000 to 14,800 miles to 11,800 miles in three trips of just over 900 miles. It was checked and no faults found so the indicator was reset.

Since being reset, one trip, 600 miles, and it showed 10,800. My last trip, 104 miles, this dropped to 10,200.

I have also noted that the oil temperature, at quite a gentle 65mph motorway cruise gets to around 110c where with Albert it would hardly get warm, eventually hovering around the 100c.
 
I have a T6 & the oil temp is usually ~ 90c.

I am seriously concerned that the oil change indicator is pointing me towards the direction of overcooked oil degradation, in which case something is wrong with the engine management.
 
My oil temp hovers between the top 90's and 106 on the occasions that I checked it. I assumed the 204s run hotter. Perhaps we are frying them!! Others observations would be helpful.

Make sure you aren't confusing coolant temperature and oil temperature.

The needle is coolant, the digital display is oil.

They will be different. Oil temp will be hotter than coolant. 100+ for oil temp is ok.

I do know the difference.

Oil temperature is as indicated on the MFD whilst coolant temperature is that big dial on the left of the speedometer.

The reason why I monitor both is a thread posted earlier about failure of a new T6 engine, first alarm signal being "Oil level low". The oil service indicator, assuming the sensors are working as the algorithm's expect, is a good indicator of oil degradation. I am now seriously concerned that if working ok then other factors are into play that may influence oil degradation. The thread I mentioned is one source of such a problem.
 
Certainly worth keeping an eye on.

The bus will squeal at you if the oil is low. "High" oil temp is fine and I wouldn't worry about this.

Coolant temp should go up to 90 and stay there.

I've seen oil temp on the T6 (150ps) up to 110'C and both VW(dealer) and VW assist (aka AA) say this is normal.

Needing an oil service after a few thousand miles is unsual and they need to sort this. I hope they get to the bottom of this soon.

Very similar here on a very similar T6 150 DSG Beach. Oil service at ~28,000 Km, 8 months; however, the van centre carried out an interim service only - not part of my £864 service plan, as it cannot be used in Spain, so I still have four remaining.

Also a T6 150 DSG (Ocean), had to do a little oil top up at about 13500 miles. Then took in for first service at 15500 which was about 1500 earlier than indicator was saying but had a big trip coming up soon after.
 
It would seem that Oil changes are more frequent/lower milage than the equivalent T5.1 predecessor engines.

That's what I have concluded.
 
This will be why the dealer gave me a free bottle of oil with my Cali , I thought that was a bit odd !
 
I would expect to have to top up at around 12-15k miles, engines do use oil. It's when the sensors are telling me that the oil is so degraded after 1,500 miles that it will soon need changing that I start to twitch :D

Strange really, because a Top-Up should extend the Oil Life.
Last Oil Change I had done was at 20,000 miles since the last, but the MFD showed another 6,500 miles to next Required Oil Change. That was with a 1L top-Up at about 15,000 miles. This was on the 180 BiTurbo.

And before any of the Doomsayers jump in, this engine has required a top up of 1L at about 15,000 miles each year since new. This has not changed and it is now on 62,000 miles.

Mine is running at 110deg c and demanded an oil service at around 12000 miles while we were far from home in Scotland. I must admit it was sooner than I expected , it’s an2016 t6 dsg 4motion 204 ps
The oil service indicater dropped from 1200 miles to zero in a very short time like a hundred miles

When our oil service alert came out at 1200 miles it counted down as per miles driven so drive another 200 miles and alert showed 1000 miles and so on.

Our 2017 150DSG runs with an oil temp of about 108. When working hard whilst towing, it rose to 112. Coolant temp nailed at 90. Put a small amount of the supplied oil in at 1000 miles. Done 11k mi now. Engine sounds and feels great. Your experience must be v worrying GJ

Our 150 T6 has just indicated that an oil service is due (its first) at about 15k. It's also on the long life service regime and is now twenty one months old.

The vehicle is running fine and no faults have come up on the diagnostic tests.

Curiously, from dropping like a stone the "miles to next service" has increased by 200 miles in 24 hours without the vehicle moving a wheel.
 
It’s had a rest and reckons it can go a bit further.
