Due to all other meets now being fully booked we have another meet to add to this years calendar. We are not on an actual rally field for this meet but the campsite has made an area available to us for the weekend meaning this will be a nice low key informal meet with a chance to meet other Cali owners and visit the local area.

Limited Spaces so please book soon.

Date: 15th - 17th June 2018
Campsite : Lobb Field, Braunton
Location: In Between Saunton Sands and Braunton, North Devon
Website: http://www.lobbfields.com
Pitches: 27 Standard and 6 EHU
Prices: From £16 per night
Arrival Time: Midday Onwards

When you book please call 01271 812 090 and ensure you quote you are part of VW California Club Rally

*** Once you have booked, please RSVP HERE ***

Notes:
  • Please ignore departure time of 10.30am, due to this being a rally we have an extended checkout time of mid afternoon
  • You can stay extra nights either side of the rally dates but you may have to move pitch
  • Depending on where you are pitched you may need levelling blocks

Location

Lobb Fields is located just on the outskirts of the pretty village of Braunton which is a 10 minute walk away. Here you’ll find some superb eateries and pubs as well as some excellent shopping from butchers, bakers and greengrocers to gift shops and newsagents. The River Caen flows through the centre of the village and the main green is a great place to sit and people watch. Visit the Bakehouse for tourist information and the Museum of Braunton to find out about the village’s military history. You’ll also find here the Museum of British Surfing and the Elliot Art Gallery, both worth a visit.
For a village, Braunton has so much to see and do!

Nearby
North Devon has some of the most stunning beaches in the country. Right on your doorstep from Lobb Fields are the golden sands of Saunton Beach where you can surf, paddle or go rockpooling. Just around the corner to the north is Croyde, then on to Putsborough, Woolacombe and Barricane, and over to the remarkable Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe. Alternatively, turn left out of the campsite and head south through Barnstaple over the River Taw to Westward Ho! with its famous pebble ridge and sandy beach. There are lots of hidden secret beaches along the way for you to discover too.

Aaahhh … would really love to go ;-)

Just booked - looking forward. Might be just me (Rik) though.

We won't be staying at the campsite as we now live just around the corner from Braunton.

Hope there will be a good time / place to come and say hi if ok?

I did not realise you lived over this way, I will double check about day visitors as I am popping over to the site one day this week, I can't see it being a problem but I will let you know.

Not sure yet, but we were thinking we might be able to tailor this meet into our travels? I've noticed that 'Goldcoast Oceanfest' music and beach festival is on in Croyde the same weekend. The site is listed as possible accommodation for festival goers. Anyone local got an idea how heavy the traffic is likely to be in the area? Thanks.

Oceanfest opens at midday on Friday and is spread out over three days so it will be a constant flow throughout the weekend , it might be a little bit busy early evening Friday but I think we should be fine.

Although the site is listed as accommodation for the festival I don't think they have many booked as the site is not on the bus route.

We moved from Brighton to Croyde which we’ve been considering for a long while. Really enjoying it, hope to see you around :)

Thanks Martin. All booked so hopefully see you in the sunshine!

OK, I have just spoken to the campsite and they are happy for us to have a few day visitors on Saturday afternoon, if you can come up to us between midday-4pm that would be great. You should be able to come up and park where there rally is at the top field.

Also in regards to Oceanfest they said Braunton it self maybe be slightly busy on Friday but we are not talking major delays.

Would love to go but we will be in Spain (Not in the Cali).

Sat night only for us, booked!

Don't forget world class fish & chips at Squires in Braunton!:)

She who must be obeyed says we can hopefully come to this meet, hopefully we will get booked in tomorrow. We agree about about Squires fish and chips and it is walking distance to the campsite

Just four weeks to go with some places still available......last meet before the school holidays and the consequent holiday road congestion!

Just popped over to the campsite to check on things. So far we have 18 booked in so still some room left.

There is also a small take away on site that has just been taken over, they will be offering simple meals over the weekend up until around 8pm so perfect for any late arrivals on Friday.

Here are a few pictures of the area the site has allocated us.
