VW California Meet Denmark 2019 pictures&reports

There is a meet in Dorset at the end of September..........?

Unfortunately our Cali spends a lot of the time in Switzerland, so may have to see about coming with a normal car and a tent )

The saturdaynight dinner/BBQ was great , we had the lottery and again some great prizes given by VW Denmark .

There was chatting and drinking until the warden came after midnight asking to lower the volume
In the morning some showed off thiere prizes , others had to deal with a hangover


Some had to go today and some stayed until monday . And look what happend , someone came up with a botle local gin asking if we would taste it ....he even had a icemaker in his Cali ....my personal hero !

It’s been a great meet combined with the good weather and @Kmann his organisation we all had a good time in Denmark .
Big thanks to everyone who came and Henrik&Iben for all the work they did organizing the meet !

We left today and I think Henrik and Iben were the last Cali there. Genuinely I felt sad to go, I was made to feel very at home on Bornholm and with our wonderful Cali friends.

Today we went to Hammerhus before we head to Sweden tomorrow. It will seem strange to be just the two people camping again.



Thanks again for her meet Henrik and Iben and thank you to everyone else for making it extra special. Denmark sets the standard very high for meets ;-)

You would be very welcome to join us either in a Cali or a car and a tent. You will find all the details here

We have a few Marco Polo members coming along too.
Would be very nice to meet you. Other than that there is a Meet in Looe in Cornwall booked in May next year with details available on the Forum thread.

So far over 2250 miles but that includes ferry miles too and may be short as it didn’t really register my UK miles other and as the crow flies.

Got back home Saturday night around 7.30pm.

Had to laugh, Euro tunnel offered us an earlier train which then got delayed until our later trains time anyway.

Fighting off the post trip blues by remembering all the places we saw and all the people we met and looking at all the pics I filled up my phone with.

Closed the polarsteps trip now with the last updates from Ieper and Kemmel.

Hi Folks and @Kmann

You may recall last year I had hoped to get an article in VW bus magazine about the Denmark meets. Well I am excited to report it is finally happening and I am writing an article about my trip around Denmark and Sweden with a special mention for the Danish meet. My plan is to include some info from our First trip to the kite festival as well as the Cali Club Dk meet in Bornholm too.

At present I have enough images but I wanted to throw the opportunity out there for anyone who has any nice images from the Denmark meet that they might be willing to share to be published. You would be credited of course and they would be published if they are chosen. I will make sure anyone who gets images published will get a copy of the magazine when its out.
