Bad People at the Washing Up Area - What winds you up?

Messy campers wind me up as you know their poorly looked after belongings will be around the campsite with the slightest breeze or friendly gull.

last camp I was at I saw a sign on the toilet wall. it said 'leave these facilities as you would expect to find them !'
so I left the tap running, broke the toilet door lock, smeared shite on the walls and nicked the bog roll.

Bloke showering a dog in France in shared male & female facilities a few years back. Then chasing the dog down the site when it escaped while the owner only had a towel on, weird!!!!

First part would bother me, the second part I just would find funny.

Oh gosh! Well, I think we’ve been quite lucky so far. Yes, food in the sink is annoying. I did find a poop in the corner of a shower recently but that was in California and I think it was a raccoon.

The odd loud young person who is drunk and talking loudly at 2am. But that was at a campsite we really love because it’s so laidback and non regimented.

I had a bloke recently say, as he was talking to my neighbours and partly to me, “Oh we’re all super nosey us camping folk. Like, we want to know where’s your husband? Where’s your kids? How did you get that VW at your age?”

Children don’t bother me. But I’d be concerned if they were kicking a ball near my beloved van.

We’ve mostly had great experiences. I’ve met some of the kindest people camping. Sadly, some humans aren’t as considerate. That’s just life eh!

This has been our fourth year in the van in France and Spain. I can honestly say that on 95% of the campsites we visited the dish washing and toilet and showering facilities have been really well looked after by fellow campers. However when we Visited a site near Alcaniz for the Spanish MotoGP we went for our mornings ablutions only to find ALL the toilets BLOCKED....say no more... That’s why we have a porta potti...And thank god we have one....In a situation like that I wouldn’t have wanted to be one of the bikers sleeping in a tent......

Chav.

On a small campsite in the Lake District a few years back during a post meal evening stroll around the site. My attention was drawn to four feet sticking outside a small tent with the owners of the feet engaged in ‘full on’ sex. Needless to say my stroll increased to a brisk walk. I appreciate this is not a ‘poo in the shower’ or ‘pasta in the plughole’ incident but I thought it was a good example of human nature whilst camping.

Presumably not a CMC site, definitely against the rules.

Correct, that behaviour would definitely have got the nets twitching!

Definitely. No tents allowed.

Something for the other club, the Camping and caravanning lot ....
Not quit correct. I know of 2 C & MH sites that allow tents, small and large, in a specific area.
Crystal Palace and Freshwater East and I gather there are others as well.

Abbey Wood and Berwick-upon-Tweed allow tents but I think sex is frowned upon! Certainly at Berwick-upon-Tweed the location of the tents would discourage any activity.

We once went to a campsite in the Lakes where the ladies toilet was blocked with Porridge

We are just settling down for the night and the caravan next door has just had about five cars arrive and they are all in their awning with what looks like the start of a party. Why would anyone think this is OK to do on a campsite?

At least in a Cali, you can move fairly quickly to another pitch. Most sites I would say that that +5 cars on a pitch is not acceptable
