Panoramic view on pop top option, yes or no?

Thanks, which dealer out of interest? I ordered with Liverpool
Well that doesn't surprise me, we had a terrible experience with Liverpool. Which salesperson you deal with seems to have as much bearing on everything as to which dealership you use. Definitely get in touch with the DP.

Thanks all, spoke to someone else today and they were fine with it..after speaking to another department they agreed to add to spec without £1k price increase.

Yes they had to get special authorisation for me to give them £270 more for !!!

Oh dear, who did you deal with ? What was the problem?

We were ready to go ahead and order, so on recommendation and watching all the Cali Chris videos, we phoned Liverpool and made a specific appointment so that we would be looked after properly. We drove 2 hours to get there but James the salesman didn't seem very interested, even though we said we would be ready to order that day. The system for PCP quotes was down so we ending up leaving without ordering one. He said he would phone or email the finance quotes to us in the next day or so. That was about 6 weeks ago and we haven't heard a thing back at all. In the meantime we went elsewhere. Very poor. A complete waste of 6 hours and fuel.

I know, it feels like they are doing you a favour ordering one for you ! We had James, he was very pleasant but wasn't bothered at all if we ordered or not !

Excellent news, really pleased for you! You shouldn't have had to have that hassle though, the amount you're spending.

Great news!

I have the front opening and I find it useful especially in summer as i can leave the canvas a bit opened during the day right at the top, to let the warm air escape. Combined with the air-safe (the hook for the tailgate) which allows for colder air to come in, it provides a good way to keep the interior of the Cali cooler.
It also makes it a bit easier should you ever want to remove the upstairs mattress if you want to unzip the cover to wash it.

Loved our front opening canvas even when using the van as an office for a change of scenery. I think my next van will be a Coast and would definitely spec this option.

It’s bizarre! Even if they are selling loads at the moment you’d have thought that more easy sales equals more commission and they’d be hungry for it.

Glad you got the right outcome. You have spurned me on question our dealer to why they changed our deal after we signed the contract. Not holding much hope though.

A friend who works in a dealership told me he had targets set to get additional comission. This was a couple of years ago though, so may not be true now
They are given targets on sales, % targets on finance and %targets on the autoglym.
The risk for them making another sale is that you will refuse the finance and the autoglym and so therefore dropping their percentage on those targets
Once they have met all 3 targets there is no need to sell any more.

Waking up to this...., a beach, lake, starry night, or whatever view your prefer is priceless. Or, if you are buying from VW, expensive. ;-)

Nicely expressed!

Ah, thanks, I figured the 'panoramic view' was the front window. I guess you gotta give it a fancy name if you charge hundreds for it ;-).

Well, we had it in our T4. We didn't have it in our T5 untill recently when we had the roof corrosion fixed and we got a new T6 canvas for free, including the front 'window'.We love it. For several reasons. It may not seem a big deal, but man I found it so annoying that we couldnt get flies and other insects out of the pop top easily when we didnt have the front window. Also, imho it adds a more roomy/spacious feel to the van when you sit in it and can open the front window. And last but not least...

We don't have one and while it's no big deal, it would be great to have this feature for the reasons HJ has stated.

Apologies for chipping in on an old thread - but wondered if anyone could confirm if the panorama window has a plastic see through panel, or is it just either fully unzipped/open or flyscreen? thanks :)

Thanks for the reply. How do you get along with it, would a plastic/see through window have been a better option if available do you think, or is there a reason it's not been designed like that perhaps?
Wish I could tell you. Got the van in November and not been camping yet (not even on the driveway).
Soon I hope. :)

haha - I do hope it won't be too much longer for you! (We have a Coast on order, patiently waiting... but consoling myself with the fact we wouldn't be able to go anywhere in it at the moment anyway!) Cheers :)
