Stop/Start function override not working

I’ve just purchased a stop/start override gizmo for my 2021 Cali Ocean. It works if the time between manually stopping the engine and starting again is quite short - but anything over a few minutes it “forgets” the selection and reverts to standard start/atop.

Now I think I recognise the smell of bovine dung, and the seller tells me “Hello, this model does not have a memory function, so it will not remember previous settings. It seems that the starter-stopper has been permanently disabled after installation” and I’m going to send it back anyway but I’m asking the forum, has anyone got one that works - and where did you get it?

Start / Stop Function = button delete

I hate the start stop function with a passion. it cannot be good for the engine despite the marketing BS. IMO it assists the manufacturer attain false emissions claims at the cost of wear and tear to the engine. I always try to remember to switch it off, but quite often forget until the stop...

To update my post . . . and reveal my embarrassment. . . .

It does work, it’s just the light in the switch that doesn’t come on! I’ve only checked it on the driveway, so assumed that if the indicator stayed off then the adaptor wasn’t working I.e the stop/start function wasn’t disabled - but now checking it out on the road I find that it works ok. It’s unfortunate that the supplier couldn’t tell me that the indicator wouldn’t actual confirm the selection, but it’s confirmed his response was bull.
